A few days later, Nadjeshda brought the latest news from the Revolutionary Army. The Revolutionary Army had split into four forces and was closing in on the Imperial Capital together. Within the next day or two, they would launch a full-scale assault on the Imperial Capital.
Everyone knew that the real war was about to begin. Night Raid's mission was not to charge onto the battlefield, but to enter the Imperial Palace while it was undermanned and kill the chief culprit, the minister. This was far more important than fighting on the front lines.
What they could think of, the enemy could surely think of as well. They must have prepared long ago, but no matter what preparations they had made, this would be a fight to the death. There was no better opportunity than this.
The one fighting outside the Imperial Capital would be either Esdeath or Great General Budo. At least one of them had to be outside, or they would be unable to hold back the Revolutionary Army. The rebels simply had too many Imperial Arms users, and only Imperial Arms users could deal with Imperial Arms users.
Several days later, massive rebel forces advanced on the Imperial Capital from all four directions. The officials in the palace were thrown into panic, not knowing what to do. None of them had expected the rebels' numbers to surge again, with their armies already at the city gates.
"Why are you panicking?! The Imperial Guard and I will kill every last one of those rebels." Great General Budo's imposing voice rang through the hall, startling the flustered officials into silence.
"But if Great General Budo goes outside the city to fight, won't the Imperial Palace be left undefended?"
"That's right. The thieves of Night Raid may very well
