"Little Erza!" Lucy said in astonishment, dazed as she held her face in both hands.
Bang!! Erza drew her sword and appeared beside Chen Fan in an instant. She smashed the hilt into his head, knocking him out, then let out a breath. "Yoshi, that takes care of it. All right, everyone, go back." With that, she grabbed Chen Fan by the collar and dragged him toward the villa.
Erza's blow scared everyone into breaking out in cold sweat. They hurried back to their rooms, as if afraid of provoking her.
On the Way Back
Early the next morning, Chen Fan began thoroughly looting the leftover food from the banquet and stuffing it all into his backpack. Makarov and the others were quite puzzled, unable to figure out what he was up to.
Since Chen Fan looked utterly embarrassing right now, they were too embarrassed to go up and ask what he was doing. One by one, they turned their faces away and pretended not to know him.
What they did not know was that Chen Fan had already seen the expressions on their faces. He thought, Fine, you don't know me, huh? There'll come a time when you beg me.
Chen Fan soon finished gathering everything and set off on the road home with Makarov and the others. On the way out, he also took that bottle of red wine from the bartender.
Under the blazing sun, Chen Fan and the others walked step by step across the cracked earth.
"Ah... seriously, Happy, you got lost again, didn't you? No matter how long we walk, we can never reach Magnolia Town. You useless cat!" Lucy complained to Happy.
"Saying I got lost again is really rude. I didn't get lost last time. This is the first time," Happy argued.
"Even if it's your first time, the fact that you got lost hasn't changed," Lucy continued.
"Ah... I'm hungry. Chen Fan, give me some food," Natsu pleaded with Chen Fan.
"No. I need to save it for my Little Erza," Chen Fan said smugly. Then he took a loaf of bread from his backpack and said to Erza, "Here, Little Erza. This is for you."
"No, I'm not hungry." Erza forcefully turned her head aside, but her eyes secretly kept glancing at the bread in Chen Fan's hand.
The sound of growling stomachs kept ringing out.
Makarov darted in front of Chen Fan and said, "Little Chen Fan, give me the bread. Do you remember? Back then, it was the bread I gave you that saved your life."
Chen Fan's previously pleasant expression suddenly darkened. He roared at Makarov, "It would've been better if you hadn't brought that up! The moment you mention it, I get pissed off. Sure, you gave me bread, but a journey that should've taken one day, you dragged out for half a month! And you still have the nerve to say that? When you didn't have money to pay for a meal, you even pawned me off there! Good thing I was smart enough to escape with my peerless piss-escape technique! And there's more..."
Lucy secretly asked Happy, "Was Chen Fan always like this before? And did the Guild Master really do those things?"
"Aye... He pawned me off a few times too," Happy said through tears.
"Oh... is that so, Happy? Watch me," Lucy said to Happy, seeming to come up with an idea.
After saying that, she shyly walked over to Chen Fan. "Brother Chen Fan..." She drew out the words so long that everyone got goosebumps.
Natsu walked over to Lucy, touched her forehead, and said, "Lucy, aren't you so hungry that you've gone stupid?"
"I don't want to hear that from you." Lucy slapped Natsu's hand away.
"Brother Chen Fan, I'm so hungry. Could you give me a little food?"
"Of course, little sister Lucy."
Their conversation disgusted everyone. Chen Fan took out a chicken leg and handed it to Lucy.
Erza watched from the side, her eyes filled with resentment. Chen Fan thought, This is bad. A woman's jealousy is terrifying.
Erza's resentment radiated so far that Natsu and Gray, standing beside her, were both startled. Neither knew who had offended their Fairy Queen again.
Chen Fan hurried over to Erza and took out a huge pile of food, but Erza ignored him completely. "Hmph..." She even turned her head away with a huff.
