"What nonsense? It's the truth. If you don't believe me, I'll go outside and shout right now. Let's see who would say Sister Lily isn't beautiful." Chen Fan hurriedly defended himself loudly, even getting to his feet as he spoke.

Startled, Sister Lily quickly grabbed Chen Fan's arm and put a finger to her lips. "Shh... don't disturb the others." Chen Fan smiled at Sister Lily and sat back down. She knew he was teasing her, so she released him and sat down as well, shooting him a glare.

They quietly ate their meal when Chen Fan suddenly said, "Sister Lily, how many years have we known each other?" He continued shoveling food into his mouth after speaking.

But Sister Lily's hand stopped. "About ten years, I think. Why are you asking?"

"Nothing, just asking." Chen Fan lowered his head. Sister Lily seemed to let out a sigh of relief and continued eating. After a while, Chen Fan asked again, "Sister Lily, do you remember how we first met?"

"Of course I remember. I'll never forget it for the rest of my life." Her gaze seemed to drift into memory as she said, "Back then, a few kids and I had nowhere left to go when we met you on the streets. Because we were starving, we actually targeted you, stole your things, cornered you, and threatened you, demanding that you bring us food every day from then on. Thinking about it now, it's really funny." Sister Lily began to laugh as she spoke.

But she quickly stopped and continued, "Even though you were so powerful, you didn't hurt us. You arranged a place for us to live, found us work, and allowed us to live happily. We truly are deeply grateful to Master for giving us a new life."

Chen Fan waved his hand. "I didn't do anything. Those were just small things. Now they support themselves, so don't dwell on it."

"How can I not? It's only because of Master that we have the lives we do today." Sister Lily said anxiously.

"Don't talk about that. What I wanted to ask today was, Sister Lily, are you happy here?"

"Yes, very happy." Sister Lily nodded vigorously.

"Sister Lily, I want to tell you that you don't owe me anything. If you want to leave, or—" Before Chen Fan could finish, Sister Lily's tears fell. With a bang, she dropped to her knees and said through sobs, "Do you not want me anymore?"

Flustered, Chen Fan helped Sister Lily up. "No, I mean that you should have a life of your own. You've worked hard taking care of me for over ten years."

But Sister Lily covered her ears, shaking her head as she shouted, "I won't listen! I won't listen! I won't listen! All these years, you don't know how many sisters you've sent away. Although they're all living happily now, I don't want to leave. Don't drive me away, okay? Ah!" By the end, her face wore an almost unhealthy expression.

Seeing Sister Lily's tear-streaked face, Chen Fan felt an indescribable ache in his heart. After so many years, even a stone would develop feelings. He hurriedly said, "Then don't leave. We'll talk about this in the future. Don't cry." He reached out and wiped the tears from Sister Lily's face. After calming her down, Chen Fan returned to his room.

He lay on his bed, feeling somewhat restless as he recalled things from the past. Back then, he had taken in several orphans out of kindness, and Sister Lily had been one of them. She had the mature air of an older sister, and she was an excellent cook, so Chen Fan had kept her by his side.

He had also taught her some magic, the Lightning element, just like Laxus's, and based on his own experience, he had taught Sister Lily several powerful techniques.

Back when Chen Fan had wanted to understand lightning magic, he had personally sought out Laxus. To his surprise, Laxus had actually told him. Back then, Chen Fan and Laxus had gone through a honeymoon period like Jiraiya and Orochimaru. Later, when Laxus discovered that Chen Fan was not learning magic for himself, Laxus cut ties with him.

As time passed, ten years had slipped by without him realizing it. He was afraid that one day he truly would be unable to live without Sister Lily, while he himself had no idea what his future would hold.

In his heart, everyone should have the life they liked. Besides, being alone at home was very boring. Coupled with the Magic Council's attack, which had made him feel the looming danger, that was why he had said those things today. Yet he had hurt Sister Lily's feelings. After all these years, Sister Lily had become like his own older sister. He would never allow anyone to hurt her, but today, he had been the one to hurt her.

Smack! Smack! He slapped himself twice, leaving several red finger marks on his face. He pulled the blanket over his head, and before long, snores began to sound.

At that moment, in the Fairy Tail guild, a small blue cat with wings quietly slipped out, holding a request form in his paw.

"Master, this is bad! One of the request forms on the second floor is missing!" Mira hurried downstairs and said anxiously.
