"They actually took an S-Class job without permission. They really are idiots, but I never imagined it had gotten this bad."

Laxus's voice rang out again. "That's a serious violation of the rules, old man. Once they come back, they'll be kicked out, right? With only that much strength, they dared challenge an S-Class job. Maybe they won't even make it back." He sounded somewhat pleased.

"Laxus, you knew about it. Why didn't you stop them?" Mira demanded, her hands on her hips.

Still wearing that indifferent expression, Laxus said, "All I saw was a thieving cat running off with a piece of paper in its mouth. I never expected it to be Happy and Natsu, heading out to carry out an S-Class job. That was beyond anything I expected."

When he turned around, he saw Mira's gloomy expression. He continued in the same unconcerned tone, "It's been a long time since I've seen that look on your face."

Then Makarov spoke up and asked Mira, "This is bad. The missing request form was for...?"

"The cursed island, Galuna Island."

"What?! The Island of Demons?"

"They're being way too reckless."

"They really are idiots!" The people in the guild cried out in shock.

"Laxus, go bring them back," Makarov said sternly.

"Are you kidding? I have work to do next. This guild doesn't need mages who make others wipe their asses for them, does it?"

"Besides you, who else can drag Natsu back by force?" Makarov shouted at Laxus.

"Who says there isn't anyone else? Isn't there one right there, so idle he has nothing better to do all day?" Laxus nodded toward Chen Fan, who was sprawled across a table downstairs. But when Chen Fan ignored him, the vein in his brow twitched again in irritation.

The moment Chen Fan heard that the request form had disappeared, he knew trouble was coming. So he sprawled across the table and played dead, planning to wake up after Gray got worked up and accepted the job. But plans could not keep up with changes; Laxus had actually dragged him into it.

"Chen Fan!"

"Chen Fan!"

"Pervert!"

"Creep!" The accusations grew harsher and harsher, until Chen Fan could no longer keep lying there. If they kept going, who knew what they would call him next?

So he opened his eyes, rubbed them sleepily, and said, "Oh, good morning, everyone. You must all be tired. Get some rest early. All right, I'm going home." With that, he tried to slip away before anyone could react.

"Wait." Makarov spoke up. Chen Fan could only turn around helplessly and look at Makarov with a miserable expression. "What is it, Master? Look at me, I don't even have an ounce of meat on me. You aren't sending me to feed demons, are you?"

"That's right, Master."

"Chen Fan doesn't know offensive magic. How can you send him?" Everyone chimed in. For the first time, Chen Fan found this bunch of fools so adorable. Now Makarov won't have anything to say, right?

Suddenly, Gray stood up and said, "Then there won't be a problem if I go too, right?"

Chen Fan nearly collapsed. You could have said that earlier or later, but you had to say it now? His resentful glare startled Gray.

Thinking Chen Fan was afraid, Gray patted his chest and said, "Don't worry. I'll protect you. You just need to bring back the badly injured Natsu."

"Oh, oh, oh, Chen Fan, you're being looked down on. Aren't you going to say something?" Laxus laughed from the second floor.

"What do I have to say?" Chen Fan turned around, his tone a little sharp.

"Hahahaha..." Laxus burst into laughter, as if he had finally seen Chen Fan suffer a loss. The other guild members were left confused, unable to figure out how Chen Fan had offended Laxus. They silently mourned for Chen Fan, and the looks they gave him clearly carried the words: what a pitiful fellow.

"Ahem. Well then, Chen Fan and Gray will go together and bring Natsu back," Makarov said after clearing his throat. He was reassured now. As long as Chen Fan made a move, there would be no problem.
