Fairy Tail: Vector Manipulation Chapter 49

This mission was practically the easiest one for Chen Fan, but he would not stop what was meant to happen. It was a process—a process that would make them stronger.

While wandering around, Chen Fan also spotted Gray's senior disciple Lyon, his three subordinates, and Urutia. Everything seemed to be the same as in the original story, so Chen Fan was relieved.

After Urutia finished speaking with Lyon, Chen Fan sent her a message. Sure enough, Urutia followed him.

They flew out one after the other. Chen Fan landed in an open stretch of woods, and Urutia stopped behind him as well.

"Who are you?" Urutia asked Chen Fan.

Chen Fan turned around and looked at Urutia in that masked male disguise. The more he looked, the more awkward it seemed, so he said, "Urutia, that outfit of yours is really ugly."

Urutia was somewhat surprised when she heard Chen Fan's words. She did not know how this man had learned her identity. "How do you know who I am?" As she spoke, she removed her disguise.

"We're old friends. Why wouldn't I know?"

"Who exactly are you?" Chen Fan wondered why they were back to this question again. He was simply himself. He had not realized that his current clothes differed so greatly from his usual ones that they were almost more of a disguise than Urutia's.

"I'm Chen Fan. Can't you tell?" Chen Fan said gloomily.

"Chen Fan?!" Urutia was startled.

Looking at the beautiful woman before him, Chen Fan honestly could not figure out what she was thinking. "Did your guild master tell you what to do if you saw me?"

"Run." As she spoke, she assumed an attacking stance.

"Oh... then what are you doing?" Chen Fan asked playfully as he watched Urutia take that stance.

"Earth, accelerate into decay!" As soon as Urutia cried out, a huge magic circle appeared beneath her feet. The ground began to crack apart bit by bit. "Whoosh..." Crystal spheres appeared one after another around Urutia. "Go!" With a wave of her hand, the crystal spheres sped toward Chen Fan.

Boom! Boom! A massive cloud of dust rose up, blocking Urutia's view. "Did I get him?!"

"Hey, hey, don't think that way. If I died, you'd become a widow." Chen Fan's teasing voice sounded from behind Urutia, startling her. She quickly leaped away and turned around, watching Chen Fan warily.

Whoosh! Whoosh! All the shattered crystal spheres floated around Urutia once more. Only then did she ask, "How did you get over there?"

"I just came over." Chen Fan stomped his foot. Whoosh! In an instant, he appeared before Urutia, barely ten centimeters from her face, staring into her eyes.

Urutia was frightened again and retreated once more. She swiftly slammed both hands onto the ground and shouted, "Earth, accelerate into decay!" An even larger magic circle appeared on the ground, and countless crystal spheres floated around Urutia. She yelled fiercely, "Go!"

This time, Chen Fan did not dodge. Countless crystal spheres crashed around him, but they could not get close. A seemingly transparent spherical barrier formed around him, and Chen Fan stood inside it, smiling at Urutia.

"That's impossible!" Urutia cried in disbelief.

"Nothing is impossible," Chen Fan said. Then he stamped his foot, and the ground shattered like a mirror. With a wave of his hand, all the broken earth formed a massive torrent that roared toward Urutia.

Urutia hurriedly dodged. With a whoosh, Chen Fan appeared before her again, his hand already wrapped around her throat. Urutia struggled desperately, but the more she struggled, the tighter Chen Fan's grip became.

Chen Fan said calmly, "I don't intend to kill you. I just want you to remember not to set your sights on Fairy Tail again. And pass this message on to your guild master Hades: if he's unhappy about it, he can come find me himself." With that, he casually flung Urutia away.

Urutia lay on the ground, looking at Chen Fan with fear in her eyes. She had never expected him to be this powerful. No wonder Guild Master Hades and Jellal had both warned her not to provoke Chen Fan. She deeply regretted picking a fight with him and quickly fled.

After watching Urutia flee in such a sorry state, Chen Fan finally relaxed. Between both his lives, he had never fought a woman before. This time, he had only acted to frighten Urutia, to make her behave herself and stop causing him trouble. As for whether she would tell Hades, Chen Fan did not care. He did not take Demon's Heart seriously anyway.

Looking at the sky, Chen Fan realized it was getting late, so he started walking toward the village. After he left, a figure appeared where Chen Fan had just been. It was Urutia, who had supposedly fled. She watched Chen Fan's departing back with a complicated expression, then quickly vanished again.

Chapter 28: Trap

"Hey, Miss Lucy, someone's coming!" A person standing atop the village gate shouted down to Lucy.
