Chen Fan turned Orsola and the Roman Orthodox nuns into the foundation of a new church, then recruited the Amakusa-Style "Sixteen Saints" Church. Back in Academy City, he stopped an attempt to restart the Absolute Ability User experiment and entered the Daihasei Festival, where his class won its first major competition.

• Chen Fan protected Orsola from Agnes, removed her magical power, and gave her Chakra and Wood Release techniques, leading her to defeat the attacking nuns and declare herself his believer.
• Chen Fan brought Agnes and the nuns into the Heavenly Church, appointed Orsola its Female Pope, and granted the followers Chakra and new abilities.
• Chen Fan persuaded the Amakusa-Style "Sixteen Saints" Church to join the Heavenly Church after defeating Tatemigu Itsuki and proving he could protect them.
• Chen Fan returned to Academy City and was signed up for the Daihasei Festival, while Shirai Kuroko told him that thieves had taken the Tree Diagram Designer’s remains to restart the Absolute Ability User experiment.
• Chen Fan confronted Musujime Awaki, destroyed the stolen remains, and ended the experiment before taking Last Order and Himegami Akisa to an amusement park with their friends.
• Chen Fan took the athletes’ oath beside Shokuhou Misaki, then defended Tsukuyomi Komoe after an opposing teacher mocked her.
• Chen Fan guarded his class’s flagpole during the festival competition and redirected the elite school’s attacks toward its teacher.

Chen Fan dominated the Daihasei Festival, pursued Orianna Thomson after Fukiyose Seiri was injured, and drew Orianna and Lidovya Lorenjeti into his growing church. As the festival continued, he faced new interest from the Roman Orthodox Church and met Misaka Mikoto’s lookalike, Misaka Mirei.

• Chen Fan swept through the festival’s events, won the class-wide tug-of-war against ten thousand opponents, and kept his promise to Fukiyose Seiri by claiming a kiss.
• When Oriana Thomson’s spell injured Fukiyose Seiri, Chen Fan tracked Oriana to District 13 while Tsuchimikado Motoharu located her with magic.
• Chen Fan caught Oriana at the airport, dismantled her traps, and discovered that Lidovya Lorenjeti was directing her through a hidden note.
• Orsola Aquinas defeated Lidovya Lorenjeti and took her and the Apostle Cross, while Chen Fan spared Oriana and brought her back to the festival.
• Chen Fan recruited Oriana and Lidovya for his church, then rejected Laura Stuart’s offer to join the Church of England despite her warning of Roman Orthodox attacks.
• Chen Fan returned to the festival with Oriana, Himegami Akisa, and Last Order cheering him on, then won Balloon Hunter after his opponents fled and their ambushes failed.
• After Tokiwadai’s match ended with a Misaka Sister injured, Misaka Mikoto attacked Chen Fan when she mistook his interaction with Misaka Mirei for something improper.

Chen Fan rescued the Misaka Sisters from Kihara Genshi’s attempt to force Misaka Mikoto to Level 6, then became a main system for the Misaka Network. After the Daihasei Festival, Laura Stuart warned him of the Roman Orthodox Church’s planned attack, and Chen Fan’s ordinary school life ended with an unexpected encounter at Tsukuyomi Komoe’s home.

• Chen Fan helped Misaka 10031 search for Misaka 10032, traced the disappearance to Shokuhou Misaki, and learned Kihara Genshi’s Plan B targeted Misaka Mikoto through the Misaka Network.
• Chen Fan and Shokuhou Misaki entered Kihara Genshi’s facility, but Kihara took control of the Exterior Brain as Misaka Mikoto’s power erupted and she attacked the Board of Directors building.
• Chen Fan protected Shokuhou Misaki, Katz, and the Misaka Sisters from Mikoto’s lightning while Awakusu Gunha helped distract her and Chen Fan analyzed the Misaka Network.
• Kihara Genshi captured Shokuhou Misaki and obtained the Exterior Brain’s restriction-release password, but Chen Fan severed Mikoto’s connection to the lightning domain and removed Kihara’s ability before killing him.
• Chen Fan cured the Misaka Sisters’ virus and became a second main system for the Misaka Network, then the Daihasei Festival ended with Chouten Jouki Academy as the winner.
• Laura Stuart warned Chen Fan that Biagio Psoni planned to attack Academy City with the Queen’s Fleet, and Chen Fan agreed to handle the threat.
• Chen Fan returned to school life and learned from Fukiyose Seiri that hundreds of girls had formed a fan club for him.
• Chen Fan agreed to help Tsukuyomi Komoe with calculations for her theory, then recognized Musujime Awaki when she appeared at Komoe’s damaged home.

Chen Fan destroyed the Roman Orthodox Church’s Queen’s Fleet and learned that God’s Right Seat planned to target him and Academy City. As Kazari Hyōka’s runaway AIM Field devastated the city, Chen Fan fought to cure her while his allies faced Rear Water, and Wind of the Front attacked.

• Chen Fan defeated Musujime Awaki, then left Academy City and destroyed the Queen’s Fleet after it threatened the city, killing Bishop Biagio Puccioni and taking the Apostle Cross.
• Wind of the Front pressured Pope Martin Lis to order Chen Fan’s arrest, while Laura Stuart and Kanzaki Kaori informed Chen Fan that God’s Right Seat also intended to destroy Academy City.
• Kanzaki Kaori stayed with Chen Fan, and she, Orianna, and the others gathered at Tsukuyomi Komoe’s home as Chen Fan completed the AIM Field calculations.
• Wind of the Front killed Academy City personnel, and Aleister activated a defense system that caused Kazari Hyōka’s AIM Field to erupt and devastate part of the city.
• Chen Fan treated injured students, confronted Aleister, and used the virus formula and antidote procedure Aleister gave him to try to save Kazari Hyōka.
• Rear Water attacked Chen Fan’s friends and tried to use them as hostages, while Chen Fan transmitted antidote code to Kazari Hyōka and Last Order warned him that Himegami Akisa was in danger.
• Wind of the Front attacked Chen Fan as he worked on the cure, but he trapped her and destroyed the cross sustaining her spell, while Himegami Akisa used Gabriel’s power to repel Rear Water.
• Rear Water rescued Wind of the Front and fled after his forces were defeated, and Chen Fan removed the viruses from Kazari Hyōka and reassured her that the disaster was not her fault.
