After washing his face with cold water, Mo Jingchun walked out of the bedroom and immediately spotted Candy asleep on the sofa.

Xia Xiaomin's jacket was draped over her.

"This kid. Why'd she come out here to sleep instead of staying in her room?"

Luckily, Xia Xiaomin had arrived at work early and covered Candy with her jacket. Otherwise, she might've caught a cold. Then she'd make a fuss about not wanting a shot or to drink her medicine.

Feeling the temperature in the office, Mo Jingchun knew Zero had raised it after Candy fell asleep.

The little one was still sleeping soundly, so Mo Jingchun and Xia Xiaomin took special care to tread softly as they walked.

Unlike the torrential downpour that morning, the afternoon had warmed back up to thirty-eight or thirty-nine degrees after the rain stopped, and the ground temperature was over forty.

The glaring sunlight beat down on the earth, and most of the rain that had fallen that morning had already evaporated. With the sun blazing overhead, hardly anyone was out on the streets.

Candy licked her lips. She'd woken up because she was hot.

When she woke up, she saw Xia Xiaomin's jacket covering her. She looked up at the office but couldn't see her brother anywhere. Who knew where he'd gone this time?

Candy figured he'd gone to the Second Laboratory Building again, where there was nothing fun to do.

She nudged Baozi, who was snoring beside her, then climbed down from the sofa and took the jacket over to Older Sister Xiao Xia.

"Thank you, Older Sister Xiao Xia."

Xia Xiaomin pinched Candy's rosy cheeks, still flushed from sleep, and smiled. "You're welcome."

"The boss went to the Second Laboratory Building. If you're going over there, remember to bring a sun umbrella."
