The landscaping supervisor froze, then quickly changed his tune. "Grand Steward, we've finished pruning the osmanthus tree. Sorry for the trouble, but could you use the excavator to plant it?"

"That's more like it." Zero nodded in satisfaction and climbed into the excavator's cab.

Behind her, the landscaping supervisor wiped the sweat from his forehead. He couldn't tell whether it was from working or the cold sweat he'd broken out in just now.
