"You, too, team leader. You turned a blind eye to your subordinate. Five points off your Performance Appraisal this month."

Five points might not seem like much, but they directly affected the year-end bonus. The Vermilion Bird Team leader looked awful and regretted it, too.

Peng Zijing could already imagine what was coming for him. In fact, the moment Zero had come looking for him personally, his fate had been sealed.

Just like everyone's salary, Performance Appraisal scores were confidential, even from other employees. Because of that, Peng Zijing had no idea what Yan Zimei's score was.

The one thing he couldn't understand was how Yan Zimei's Performance Appraisal scores were so high every month. They all chatted together, after all!

"Pack up your personal belongings and go straight to Human Resources to take care of your resignation."

"I'll archive your work and hand it over to Yan Zimei. We'll fill the team back out once the new hires arrive."

Zero glanced at Yan Zimei, who was typing away with her head down and hadn't even noticed a syntax error. It was obvious she wasn't feeling calm at all.

The fallout from this could very well reach her, too.

"Yan Zimei." At the sound of her name, Yan Zimei's fingers trembled.

"You'll take over Peng Zijing's work for now. Any problems? You can speak up if there are."

"No problem. I can take it over."

Yan Zimei agreed without a second thought.

Zero sighed. "Well, kid, maybe we'll meet again someday."

With that, Zero turned and left without a backward glance.

After leaving R1306, Zero was pulled straight into R1305 by Li Xuanyu.

"What's up?" Zero scratched his head in confusion and looked at Li Xuanyu.

"What's going on?"

"Nothing's going on. The boss just gave me a new instruction.
