Wake Up
(Pretty, 38.9°C)
Thanks to the county hospital's timely report, all close contacts were placed under control immediately.
The most noticeable change was the sharp drop in the number of fever patients being admitted to the county hospital.
Under the moonlight, Candy watched cartoons as if nothing were wrong.
The only thing Candy was unhappy about was that her brother wouldn't let her sit on the sofa. He insisted she sit on a Small Stool by herself, and wear a mask too.
Hmph. Was he really her brother?
Watching her brother and sister sitting on the sofa, Candy gave a quiet snort.
It was soft, but Mo Jingchun and Zhou Yaling heard it loud and clear.
"What's wrong?"
"At least you've got a Small Stool to sit on."
At that, Candy turned her head away, refusing to look at her brother.
"Don't be stubborn. You might have a fever tomorrow."
"I won't."
Candy patted her little chest and said with conviction:
"I'm as strong as an ox."
Mo Jingchun smiled. "Let's hope you're as strong as an ox and don't get a fever."
"Anyway, you're not going anywhere for the next couple of days. Stay home like a good girl. If you sneak off to the square by yourself to dance, I'll make your butt bloom."
Candy thought about how likely it was that her brother would hit her if she ran outside.
The answer was obvious. If she went against her brother, she'd definitely get a beating.
Candy could even picture what it would look like.
Her brother would be smacking her butt with a stick, while her sister stood nearby, happily munching on sunflower seeds and watching.
Every now and then, she might even cheer him on.
Just imagining it made Candy shudder.
No way, no way.
