The other monsters didn't stop because Amamiya Natsuki had appeared. They simply switched targets and charged straight at him.
Amamiya Natsuki reached out and grabbed the bloodstained fire axe, then charged forward without dodging or flinching.
There were plenty of weapons that could hurt evil spirits and monsters, but after trying all sorts of things, Amamiya Natsuki still found an axe the most comfortable to wield.
There was no other reason. The sheer force of it, the wide, powerful swings—that was a man's idea of fun.
Under the bespectacled office lady's horrified gaze, Amamiya Natsuki slaughtered every monster in less than a minute. Their bodies dissolved into black mist, leaving only their clothes scattered on the ground.
Amamiya Natsuki put away the axe and turned to the woman.
"Th-thank you, Natsuki-kun..."
The bespectacled woman bowed in a panic.
Amamiya Natsuki said expressionlessly:
"Mrs. Ozawa, why were you outside the internet café?"
"I..."
Mrs. Ozawa hesitated, unable to get the words out.
Amamiya Natsuki said:
"If you don't want to tell me, please leave at once."
"I-I'll tell you!" Mrs. Ozawa panicked. Now that she'd seen the monsters with her own eyes, she was even more afraid of leaving on her own. "I wanted to use the restroom, but they were all occupied... I really couldn't hold it anymore, so I came up here..."
Amamiya Natsuki asked:
"Why did you come out alone?"
Mrs. Ozawa lowered her head. "I didn't want to bother anyone."
Amamiya Natsuki sighed helplessly.
That was the way people on this island were. They'd ingrained the idea of not wanting to bother others into their very bones. Unless they had absolutely no choice, they'd never ask anyone for help.
Of course, perhaps Mrs. Ozawa hadn't told anyone because she was embarrassed to bring it up.
