Seeing the hopeful look in Little Aoi's eyes, Tsubame-senpai finally gritted her teeth and pointed toward the bathroom.
"Go take a bath. I'll scrub your back for you!"
"I really do like you best, senpai." Amamiya Natsuki got up and headed toward the bathroom. He had been to senpai's house a few times and knew his way around. Turning back at the bathroom door, he asked, "Senpai, you won't go back on your word, right?"
"Hmph~"
Tsubame-senpai couldn't help giving him a reproachful look, her cheeks puffed out.
"I keep my word."
The Elementary School Student said expectantly,
"Mom, I want to take a bath with you, too."
"Aoi, watch cartoons on the sofa." Tsubame-senpai hurriedly replied. "Scrubbing someone's back is tiring. I can handle it by myself."
Families in Japan really did have a tradition of bathing together. Fathers and daughters, mothers and sons could pair up however they liked; it wasn't strange. It was like how Indians liked to wipe their bottoms with their hands. It was someone else's tradition, and while it might be hard to understand, all you had to do was respect it.
But Aoi wasn't her biological daughter, so of course they couldn't bathe together.
Tsubame-senpai walked to the door, then suddenly realized something.
"Wait... I only said I'd scrub your back. Who said we were going to bathe together?"
Letting out a soft breath, Tsubame-senpai pushed open the door and entered the bathroom. She glanced at Amamiya Natsuki, who was showering, and her pretty face turned faintly red.
No matter what, she really was embarrassed.
"Come over here, senpai." Amamiya Natsuki beckoned. "You can scrub my back now."
