Background / History

Lin Ze awakened memories of his previous life at age twelve and became bound to the Gates to Heavens. Over the following five years, he learned another world's language, customs, and culture; trained for self-protection; and used inter-world trade to accumulate capital and Luck 7.

Its early use was deliberately concealed. Lin Ze opened gateways in remote locations, checked destinations with drones before crossing, and avoided exposing the artifact to outsiders because discovery could force him to silence witnesses 48 70. He also used gates placed in distant skies or hidden positions to observe locations without directly entering them 73 114 117.

After discovering a stable Grotto-Heaven World, Lin Ze designated it World No. 0 and established it as an independent base beyond the reach of forces in the Main World and Great Zhou. He conceived the Gates to Heavens Mall as a multi-world commercial organization that would exchange resources, influence the fates of connected worlds, and generate Luck for him 130 131.

Lin Ze first revealed the Gates to Heavens to the miners and guards recruited for World No. 0, transporting more than six hundred people through its rune-covered gateway. The recruits became the Mall's first reserve employees 132 133. The system later supported public inter-world development, permanent trade channels, and the expansion of the Mall across multiple worlds 173.

After 123 years of development, the Gates to Heavens discovered World No. 4 and a more advanced cultivation civilization in World No. 5. Lin Ze ordered World No. 4's rapid conquest while sealing World No. 5 until the Mall's strength became sufficient 176.

Appearance

When physically manifested, the Gates to Heavens appears as a celestial-style spatial gate made of numerous runes and emitting white light. Its open doorway visibly displays the destination beyond it 132.
