More accurately still, the moment Murphy, in his capacity as the Lord of Withering, designated the members of Twilight and their followers as the Underworld's sworn enemies, the failure of the Witch Cult's uprising had become a foregone conclusion.
Everything that happened afterward was less a counterattack by the Elven Kingdom than the vampires taking advantage of the Elven Court's grounds to settle some internal affairs of their own. In particular, Luna and Triss settling their grudge, the descent of the Midnight Matron, and the appearance of the Cage of the Gods were all thrilling scenes that had little to do with the elves, the masters of this great forest.
So, if you asked the elves what they thought of everything that had happened tonight, most of them would probably tell you they'd exclaimed, "Holy shit!" and watched the show while munching on snacks!
After all, once the siege of the royal court had been lifted, the Witch Cult—the greatest threat to the Castia Forest—had already reached the end of its road.
