Murphy, the vampire whose biological clock ran on an unusual schedule, had gotten up early. After washing up in the Swamp Restricted Zone, he headed to the control platform and brewed himself a cup of coffee, looking every bit like an office drone preparing to "work overtime."
"Are things ready on your end?"
He adjusted his mechanical chair and asked. Lady Rose answered promptly:
"Just a moment. They're making some final adjustments. We're running three rounds of link tests today. The first two are for professionals, and the last is for civilians. Seventy people in total will take part.
"They'll try to connect to Transia from different regions, under different network conditions, and at different times, using their self-developed 'loggers.' I'll guide the data flow between the two sides, as we discussed. You just need to act as the 'bridge Wi-Fi.'
"Once the three rounds of testing are over, we'll also test whether a communication device from the Astral Domain of the Land of Creation can temporarily replace you as the hub between the two worlds.
"It'll probably take about six hours to finish.
"I hope you had lunch in advance. There won't be time to let you go out and forage."
"I'm a vampire, Rose. I can go for months without eating if I have to."
Murphy grumbled:
"Instead of worrying about me, you should check your preparations again. This time, they're using self-developed loggers, which means those personality data won't be properly protected. If something goes wrong, the consequences could be disastrous.
"People's lives are at stake, after all."
"They've already taken that into account."
Rose gave a mocking laugh and said:
"Never mind that all those game pods were built with Creator technology
