Murphy slept for quite a long time.
He had a dream. It was a strange one. In it, he experienced the war between the Astral Realm and the material world from the perspectives of many people. He saw his little players hunting down Chaos amid the white halos spreading through the Astral Realm. He also saw foreign soldiers on horseback charging across the plains at sunset alongside the Aztecs.
He saw a round, plump object fall from the sky and annihilate a valley. He also saw Maxim, successfully revived in the Life Greenhouse, return to Transia with the Astral Army and leap down from the solar ship touring the continent amid the people's cheers.
He saw two worlds embrace victory as the scales of war tipped in their favor. He also heard the shadows of Chaos cursing furiously in the Warp.
He saw everything and heard everything.
Even in his dream, Murphy smiled. He knew that his mission as Administrator Alpha had finally been completed.
Like some poor sap sent by corporate headquarters to a remote region to get operations up and running, he had finally overcome countless hardships and finished the job. At last, he could hold his head high, return to headquarters, and smugly slap his resignation letter in the face of that dumbass manager.
Yes!
That was exactly what he was going to do next!
But before he could slap that dumbass boss in the face, Murphy still had one last thing to do: wake up from this overly realistic dream.
Mm, all he had to do was open his eyes.
The next moment, what met Murphy's gaze was the familiar lid of a Creator-style medical pod. After detecting that he had awoken, the lid slid open, and Murphy sat up.
