The chainsword, modified by Old Flywheel and enchanted by Triss, was very comfortable to use. Weapons with names seemed to be especially ingenious, too.
Especially after Murphy wielded it and led his vampires in a drop onto Position Seven, then plowed straight through the kobolds' armed position. The buzzing contraption hadn't jammed or bucked once.
It was heavy, noisy, and hard to control precisely. Using it was certainly torture for anyone unskilled in combat, but when the spinning chainsaw ripped every enemy in its path in half, and the sight of blood spraying everywhere met the eye, all complaints vanished in the face of such brutal destruction.
At this point, Murphy's only remaining complaint was that this greatsword-style chainsword couldn't be operated one-handed.
That way, he could wield two of these cool things and go on a killing spree across the battlefield.
Old Flywheel had promised to design a one-handed chainsword for Murphy when he had some free time.
But he was pessimistic about it. After all, this was a mechanical device, and even a miniature steam boiler took up a significant amount of space. If they really tried to make a lighter, thinner one-handed chainsaw, its destructive power would drop drastically.
Murphy was very disappointed.
Just as he was disappointed by the kobolds' fighting ability. He'd cut his way here with ease, and not a single armed kobold had been able to stop him. This dull fighting was like chopping down a tree with an axe—completely pointless.
Of course, that was just bragging.
Still, having such a valiant attacker was enough to lift the spirits of the players and NPCs following Murphy, especially the players advancing behind the walkers, and in particular the "ace crews" operating the walkers as they slaughtered kobolds.
"This is great! So great!"
