764: Tell Your God! Transia's Lord Needs an Explanation!

The sudden arrival of the Spring Festival event caught many players off guard, especially those who had been in the tunnels battling gnolls and kobolds when the Astral Rift opened. They had no idea where the astral wolves had come from, and the beasts' rampage through the tunnels seriously disrupted their plans.

Still, looking on the bright side, there were clearly more kobolds than wolves in the tunnels at the moment. So the sudden arrival of the pack had, in a way, taken some of the pressure off the players carrying out the "counter-sweep operation."

But that didn't make it a good thing.

A great many wolves had crossed the Astral Rift and reached the area around Shadowvale in a short time, forcing the command center to suspend every operation other than driving off the pack. Still, given that the wolves' rampage had also prevented the gnolls from carrying out their strategy, this wave had, in theory, cost them very little.

In theory, of course.

The gnolls had the strategic initiative, after all. They could withdraw from this chaotic area at any time, but Shadowvale's defenders couldn't.

There were already two lesser legendary wolf-calamity lords in the valley pursuing Murphy, and the gnolls' divine spell had sealed off space, making it difficult for reinforcements to arrive quickly. Vilanthes alone, left to protect Murphy, was clearly stretched too thin.
