The gnoll Hogg's story quest had been triggered, but it was only an insignificant part of the ongoing campaign to wipe out the gnolls.
At least, it hadn't caused a stir yet.
While combat players were busy racking up points in the pool to trade for rewards, and new players were focused on leveling up and gearing themselves, the pace of the administrative players' game hadn't been affected by the battle raging outside.
For example, the Crimson Fort's chief architect, Heaven-Chosen Construction Worker, and his roommate and assistant, Bricklayer, had logged in early that morning and hurried to the construction site in the city district.
Today was a very important day for the two of them. The first three-story "apartment building" they had designed themselves was about to rise from the ground.

"And do you really believe their 'turning fossils into mud' spell will work the way we expect? What if it turns out all lopsided? That'd be a huge embarrassment."
"I don't know! Why are you asking me? Ask anyone you want at the design institute—you won't find a single senior student who can build houses with psionic spells."
For the seventeenth time, Heaven-Chosen Construction Worker sighed.
He looked over the blueprints again,
