Did the Bishop-class Precursors have any combat ability of their own?
Judging by the plot of Pacific Rim, the Precursors themselves didn't have much fighting ability. They relied on biotechnology and used the Kaiju they created as weapons.
But that might simply have been because the movie didn't explain things in detail. It didn't mean the Precursors hadn't enhanced their own abilities.
After all, they were an intelligent technological species and the creators of a dangerous life-form. If they wanted to enhance themselves, they should have been able to.
Once Hao Shuai thought it through, the Precursors' displayed combat ability no longer seemed so jarring. Instead, it piqued his interest.
He wanted to see just how powerful the Precursors were, so he suddenly vanished and reappeared right in front of one. He swung his right palm down at it with tremendous force.
This Bishop-class Precursor was a seasoned fighter. Faced with Hao Shuai's sudden attack, it calmly raised its winged claw. A loud bang rang out as they collided, and the shockwave drove the air outward, whipping up a fierce storm around them.
The intense collision forced the Precursor back four or five meters.
From this brief close-quarters exchange, it was clear that although the Precursor had the advantage in height and weight, it couldn't withstand Hao Shuai's immense strength and had been hurt by the impact.
Realizing it was injured, the Precursor used the momentum to retreat farther.
Hao Shuai didn't press the attack. Instead, he reflected on his strike and gauged the Precursor's strength. In the end, he couldn't help but marvel: This Bishop-class Precursor had an incredibly tough body and immense strength! It was almost as strong as the Alien Queen.
