Since Strange was an excellent Sorcerer Supreme, why not let him follow the story and come to Kamar-Taj to study magic and become a sorcerer?
Then Hao Shuai could create a deputy position under the Sorcerer Supreme and appoint Strange, also known as Doctor Strange, to it.
The Infinity Stones couldn't be taken out of the Marvel World anyway. That way, whenever Hao Shuai wasn't there, Strange could hold the Time Stone and protect the world.
To save time, perhaps he could even go and break Strange's hands ahead of schedule, so he would come to Kamar-Taj to study magic sooner?!
With Strange's talent for magic, he'd be able to take over Hao Shuai's duties in a year at most.
At the thought, Hao Shuai silently gave his own brilliant mind a pat on the back. He could hardly wait to set off right then and break Strange's hands himself.
"What have you decided? Do you agree to take over?" The Ancient One didn't know what Hao Shuai was thinking, but judging by the smile tugging at his lips, she figured it was all but settled.
Although Hao Shuai had agreed in his heart, he still spoke modestly. "If I just take over as Sorcerer Supreme like this, won't the others at Kamar-Taj object? After all, I am an outsider..."
"Don't worry about that. The position of Sorcerer Supreme has always been passed on at the predecessor's discretion," The Ancient One said with a smile. "Besides, didn't you already 'win them over with virtue'—or rather, beat them into submission?"
