Just as Thor was fuming, Sif said, "Thor, now isn't the time to dwell on this. We have to get back to Asgard as soon as possible and stop Loki from running amok!"
Thor lowered his head and gave a bitter smile. "I want to go back too, but I'm no longer the God of Thunder. Father not only banished me to Midgard, he sealed away my powers. Now I can't even lift Mjolnir."
"What the hell?!"
The Warriors Four wondered if they'd misheard.
They'd known Thor was exiled, but they hadn't known the details.
Now they were being told that Thor had not only lost his powers, but couldn't even lift Mjolnir anymore.
What was the point of that?!
Thor was the God of Hammers, after all. Without his hammer, was he even a god anymore?!
Sif still wasn't ready to give up hope. "Thor, why don't you try again? Oh, right—where's Mjolnir?"
"Th-this..." Thor dodged the question, his eyes darting about. After a long moment, he awkwardly pointed at Hao Shuai and said, "Mjolnir doesn't belong to me anymore. He lifted it and became the new God of Thunder."
The Warriors Four: "???"
"Th-Thor, did I hear you right?" Sif stammered after a long pause. "You're saying a mortal lifted Mjolnir?"
Throughout all of Asgard, Mjolnir was a symbol of the throne. Apart from Thor himself, only Odin could lift it.
How could some weakling from Midgard have lifted it?
"Y-yeah, you heard me right!" Thor said, bracing himself. "Hao Shuai really can lift Mjolnir."
But so he wouldn't seem completely useless, he quickly added, "And Hao Shuai isn't an ordinary Midgardian. He gave Loki a good thrashing with his bare hands."
"Him?"
"He beat up Loki?"
"With his bare hands?"
"How is that possible?"
