Just as Hao Shuai was plotting to take the Destroyer for himself, it seemed to notice them.
The next second,
the Destroyer's faceplate opened, unleashing a terrifying beam of scorching energy.
"Get out of the way!"
At Thor's shout, everyone hurried out of the bar. As he left, Hao Shuai remembered to bring Jane and the others with him.
Boom!!
They had barely made it outside when the terrifying beam struck the bar. A deafening explosion rang out.
When Thor and the others looked back, they couldn't help sucking in a sharp breath.
The bar behind them had been vaporized by the high-energy beam, leaving only a trench nearly a meter deep.
"Your Excellency, what should we do now?" Nick Fury asked.
"Let's watch the show first," Hao Shuai replied casually. "By the way, the townspeople have all been evacuated, right?"
"They have." Black Fury was glad he'd taken Hao Shuai's advice. At the rate the Destroyer had attacked, it would have wiped out the entire town in just a couple more strikes.
"Good." Hao Shuai pointed at Jane and the others on the ground. "You can't take part in the fight to come. Take them and get as far away as you can."
"Sorry for the trouble, Your Excellency." Nick Fury knew that their handful of crappy guns wouldn't do any good here, so he immediately led his people far away.
Once they were gone, Hao Shuai turned his attention back to the Destroyer.
The Warriors Four had charged in and engaged it.
The four worked together with impressive coordination. Under her teammates' cover, Sif circled behind the Destroyer, leaped onto its shoulder, and thrust her sword toward its neck.
Her razor-sharp spear pierced straight through the back of the Destroyer's head, pinning it to the ground.
