Mid-June by West Lake, The scenery differs from other seasons. Lotus leaves stretch to the horizon, an endless green, While lotus flowers, kissed by the sun, glow a vibrant red.
West Lake is located in Hangzhou Prefecture, Zhejiang Province, known as "Heaven above, Suzhou and Hangzhou below." The great Song Dynasty literary scholar Su Dongpo once said, "There are thirty-six West Lakes in the world, but Hangzhou's is the finest."
West Lake boasts natural scenery with mountains on three sides and water embracing the city. It has always been a place that draws people in and makes them linger, filled with beautiful myths and legends and unparalleled scenic beauty. The climate is pleasant, and the food is abundant; it is truly a wonderful place for recuperation and rest.
At this moment, by the West Lake on the western side of Hangzhou city, the sun shines brightly, the lake is full of lotus flowers, and weeping willows brush the water. The beauty of the scenery is truly captivating, making one reluctant to leave.
A handsome and dashing figure strolls along the long embankment by the lake. A gentle breeze blows, lifting the corners of their clothes, making them appear almost ethereal, not of this mortal world.
Hao Shuai looks at the beautiful scenery, regretting that the beauty beside him is absent.
Originally, Hao Shuai and Dongfang Bai were heading to Hangzhou after descending Mount Hua. Unfortunately, halfway there, the Sun Moon Holy Cult had urgent matters requiring Dongfang Bai's return, so Hao Shuai had to come to Hangzhou alone.
Hao Shuai walks up a stone staircase on a small hill. After a few turns, he arrives at a plum grove. The old branches are gnarled, and the foliage is dense. Imagining the plum blossoms in full bloom in early spring, with snow-like fragrance filling the air, it would surely be an unforgettable sight.
Passing through a large plum grove, he walks onto a bluestone path and arrives outside a grand manor with vermillion gates and white walls. As he approaches, he sees the words "Plum Manor" written on the gate, with "Inscribed by Yu Yunwen" next to it.
This is Hao Shuai's destination and the place where Ren Woxing was imprisoned in the story.
Knock, knock, knock!
Hao Shuai steps forward and lightly taps the bronze rings on the red lacquered gate a few times.
After a while, the gate slowly opens, and two old men dressed as servants walk out side by side.
Their eyes are sharp, their steps are steady, and their Internal Energy is far deeper than that of ordinary top-tier experts. These two should be Ding Jian, the One-Character Electric Sword, and Shi Lingwei, the Five-Road God, but Hao Shuai cannot tell which is which.
The man on the left sees that Hao Shuai is young and handsome, unlike an ordinary person. He bows and says, "May I ask what brings you to our humble manor, sir?"
Hao Shuai doesn't answer. He directly takes out a token from his bosom, which is neither gold nor wood, carved with sun and moon patterns. He flashes it before the man's eyes and then puts it away.
Upon seeing the token, the man on the left's pupils contract sharply. He then says, "Esteemed guest, please come in and have some tea. Allow me to report inside first!" With that, he hurries into the courtyard.
Hao Shuai follows the other servant into the manor, passing through a large courtyard. On either side of the courtyard, an old plum tree is planted, its branches like iron, extremely vigorous. They then arrive at the main hall and sit down.
"Esteemed guest, you have traveled a long way. It is our disrespect not to have welcomed you sooner!"
Not long after Hao Shuai sat down, four people entered. The man leading them was about sixty years old, gaunt, with sunken facial muscles, resembling a skeleton. However, his eyes were bright and sharp, and he wore a friendly smile. Before even reaching Hao Shuai, he clasped his hands in a fist salute, his posture very humble.
Hao Shuai takes a brief look at the four, knowing they should be the Four Fools of Jiangnan, who enjoy music, chess, calligraphy, and painting. The one who spoke earlier should be Huang Zhonggong, the most skilled in martial arts.
Among the other three, one is handsome and refined, but his complexion is pale, his hair is extremely black, and his face is very white, resembling a zombie. He should be Heibaizi. The one who is short and plump, with a shiny bald head, must be Tubi Weng. The remaining one, with a beard reaching his abdomen, is Danqingzi.
After Hao Shuai returned the fist salute, he directly took the Black Wood Token from his bosom and handed it to Huang Zhonggong, stating directly, "The Cult Leader has ordered me to come here to take full responsibility for dealing with Ren Woxing."
Huang Zhonggong takes the Black Wood Token and examines it closely, finding it to be genuine. As a veteran member of the Sun Moon Holy Cult, he can naturally discern authenticity.
After confirming the token is real, Huang Zhonggong returns it to Hao Shuai and clasps his hands, saying, "May I ask what the Special Envoy's orders are?"
"Take me to the dungeon where Ren Woxing is imprisoned now." Hao Shuai doesn't want to waste time and intends to deal with Ren Woxing directly.
"Special Envoy, please follow me!" Huang Zhonggong leads the way. Soon, they arrive at a bedroom. The room contains a bed and a table, with simple furnishings. A gauze curtain hangs over the bed, very old and yellowed. On the table sits a short zither, entirely black, seemingly made of iron.
Huang Zhonggong steps forward, lifts the bedding on the bed, and reveals the bed board. Beneath it is an iron plate with a copper ring. Huang Zhonggong grasps the copper ring and lifts it upwards. A four-foot-wide, five-foot-long iron plate rises easily, revealing a large square hole. This iron plate is half a foot thick, clearly very heavy. He places it on the ground and says, "Special Envoy, please follow me." With that, he leaps into the hole.
Hao Shuai isn't afraid of them playing tricks and follows him down. After walking about twenty feet, he sees a stone door. Huang Zhonggong takes out a set of keys from his bosom, inserts them into a keyhole, turns them a few times, and pushes inward. With a creaking sound, the stone door slowly opens.
Entering the stone door, the tunnel slopes downwards. After walking dozens of feet, they arrive at another door. Huang Zhonggong takes out his keys again and opens the door. This time, it is an iron door. The terrain continuously slopes downwards; it's likely they have already descended over a hundred feet underground. The tunnel turns a few times, and another door appears ahead.
The third gateway is formed by four doors sandwiched together: an iron door, then a wooden door padded with cotton, then another iron door, and finally another padded wooden door.
After passing through the four doors and feeling their way forward for several dozen feet, until they feel moisture on the stone walls and ground, Hao Shuai estimates they are near the bottom of West Lake. Finally, they see the last iron door. On the door is a one-foot-long square hole, large enough to see the situation inside the dungeon.
Seeing such a complex dungeon, Hao Shuai thinks: Xiaobai went to a lot of trouble to imprison Ren Woxing! Why didn't she just kill him and be done with it?
"Special Envoy, behind this iron door is Ren Woxing's prison!" Huang Zhonggong first says to Hao Shuai, then turns to the square hole and shouts loudly, "Mr. Ren, the Cult Leader has sent a Special Envoy to visit you!"
A deep, rough voice curses from within: "Go to hell, Special Envoy! If you have something to say, say it. If not, get lost far away!"
"Alright, give me the keys. You can all leave now!" Hao Shuai, too lazy to respond to Ren Woxing, dismisses Huang Zhonggong and the other three.
Before leaving, Huang Zhonggong tells Hao Shuai, "Special Envoy, be careful of Ren Woxing's Star Absorbing Great Method. It's best to speak through the iron door. Do not open it."
After Huang Zhonggong and the four leave, Hao Shuai approaches the square hole and looks inside. He sees that the prison cell is only about ten feet square. Against the wall is a couch, and Ren Woxing is sitting on it. His long beard hangs to his chest, his face is covered in stubble, and his hair and beard are deep black, with no sign of gray. His hands and feet are chained to the wall behind him.
At this moment, Ren Woxing sees Hao Shuai peering inside and curses, "You bastard dog, come to see me. You're nothing but after my Star Absorbing Great Method. Don't even dream about it..."
Seeing Ren Woxing's vulgar curses, Hao Shuai doesn't reply. Instead, he directly pulls out an AK-47 and unleashes a hail of bullets at Ren Woxing.
After emptying a magazine, Hao Shuai takes out four keys, inserts them into the four keyholes, and opens the iron door.
After entering, Hao Shuai takes out his pistol and fires two more shots at Ren Woxing's head. He then sprinkles some Corpse Dissolving Powder, which he got from Dongfang Bai, on Ren Woxing. In a short while, Ren Woxing is dissolved without a trace, leaving only a pool of yellow liquid.
Alas, the once mighty hero Ren Woxing, a top figure who shook the underworld, makes his appearance, utters only a few lines of dialogue, and gloriously meets his end, finishing his role! What a tragedy~~~
After destroying the evidence, Hao Shuai digs through the straw on the bed and indeed finds an inscription on the stone slab.
"Constantly keep the Dantian like an empty box, always like a deep valley. An empty box can store things, a deep valley can hold water. If there is any Internal Energy, disperse it among the acupoints of the Ren Meridian..."
Excellent!
It is indeed the Star Absorbing Great Method. Hao Shuai doesn't read it in detail and directly stores the stone slab into his Space.
After leaving the dungeon, Hao Shuai tells Huang Zhonggong and the other three that Ren Woxing has been executed and instructs them to return to the Sun Moon Holy Cult to report their mission on a chosen day. He then takes his leave.
