Over the next two months, Hao Shuai neither met with Eddie nor directly interfered with the plot. He simply had Red Queen monitor Eddie's life, and everything proceeded according to plan. Eddie began living a flashy, luxurious life among the upper class.
Hao Shuai only visited the lab every ten days or so to check on the research. The rest of the time, aside from traveling around Rice Country, he spent with the women in Night Shift World, Xiao Ao World, and the others.
One day, just after Hao Shuai left the company lab, Red Queen reported that three people had entered Eddie's home. Hao Shuai knew at once that this was the part of the movie where Eddie killed three gangsters.
With a single Teleportation, Hao Shuai appeared outside Eddie's home. He walked in and saw Eddie getting roughed up by two of the gang boss's men, while the boss stood to the side, launching into the kind of villainous monologue that always preceded his death.
The four of them froze when they saw Hao Shuai enter. Hao Shuai didn't bother with words. He simply helped Rice Country carry out a little crackdown on organized crime. Looking at Eddie on the floor, he said, "Life on the pills was pretty comfortable, wasn't it? Now that you're out, do you feel like you'd be better off dead?"
"How do you know I've been taking the pills?" Eddie got up from the floor and looked at Hao Shuai.
"You don't need to know how I found out! Do you want more pills or not? If you do, come with me!" Hao Shuai said, then headed straight for the door.
