The main hall on the first floor.
As Jin Guangming and the many wealthy and powerful people around him watched dozens of Martial Artists charge at Li ChunJun from every direction, the spectacular sight brought smiles to their faces.
The smiles grew even wider when they saw that the men leading the charge were all well-known Internal Strength experts in Guangzhou City.
There was a gap between External Refinement, Internal Strengthening, and Harmony Realm, but they were all still mortal flesh and blood. The difference was not so great that it could not be overcome.
If they could still be wounded and bleed when stabbed by a sword or struck by a blade, then three or five Internal Strength Great Accomplishment experts wielding weapons might well defeat a martial master who had achieved Internal-External Unity.
That was why, even after witnessing Li ChunJun viciously kill Mo Lei, a martial master of the Harmony Realm, they still thought he was courting death.
But as time passed, one after another of the Internal Strength experts at the forefront—those rushing up the stairs and even leaping to the second floor—fell to Li ChunJun's sword. The smiles on Jin Guangming's face and those of the billionaires and powerful figures beside him began to look strained.
When the fastest-charging Internal Strength experts had been killed off—eight of them in an incredibly short time—a bad feeling rose in Jin Guangming's heart.
Too strong!
This Li ChunJun...
He seemed terrifyingly strong.
Compared to one-on-one life-or-death battles against martial masters of the Harmony Realm, he seemed even better at fighting outnumbered, where his refined swordsmanship and combat skills were less useful in the chaos.
If things continued like this...
"Impossible! No matter how capable he is, he can't kill every one of the hundred-plus Martial Artists here! Besides, the Garrison Department is rushing over at full speed. Once hundreds or even thousands of Garrison Department Elites surround him, he won't be able to escape, no matter how powerful he is."
Jin Guangming kept reassuring himself.
Even so, seeing Li ChunJun use the "terrain" on the second floor to keep intercepting the incoming Martial Artists, some of the wealthy and powerful people who had been standing beside Jin Guangming edged toward the door despite themselves.
Several people whose status and influence rivaled Jin Guangming's, and who had no need of him, simply said, "I just remembered I have some things to take care of, so I'll be leaving first."
A wise man did not stand beneath a wall on the verge of collapse.
Though Li ChunJun appeared to be surrounded, just as Jin Guangming had sensed something was wrong seven days ago and left at once, these people were doing the same.
They were unwilling to risk staying in the same space as a mad killer like him.
"Shhk! Shhk!"
The second floor!
Wherever the sword light swept, flesh and blood flew.
The sword he had obtained from the Sword Tasting Hall was of higher quality than the Sharp Sword worth a million he had used before.
Sometimes, when it clashed with another Martial Artist's weapon, it could even snap it clean in two.
Taking advantage of this, he had held the second-floor stairwell for nearly half a minute, killing nine people before more Martial Artists entered the second floor from other directions and forced him to move again.
Sensing that he was about to move, six men who had made it upstairs tried to block him, with two Internal Strength experts at the vanguard.
But Li ChunJun gave them no chance to form a formation. He suddenly accelerated, smashed through the six-man line, and charged straight into a bedroom.
The moment he entered the bedroom, Li ChunJun turned to face his enemies, and the fight immediately shifted from one against many to one-on-one.
At most, one against two.
And one against two...
These Martial Artists, whose strongest were no more than Internal Strength experts, were simply a matter of killing whoever came.
Fortunately, Martial Artists weren't real monsters. They wouldn't stupidly line up outside the door and let Li ChunJun kill them one by one.
This situation lasted less than half a minute. A Martial Artist skilled in body conditioning and heavy weapons let out a low growl, then slammed his fierce force into the bedroom's non-load-bearing wall, bringing it crashing down.
Only by destroying the "terrain" were they able to break the tactic Li ChunJun had used to hold the bedroom.
"Let's see where you can run now!"
With the wall brought down, the Martial Artists poured into the bedroom, surrounding him once more.
And this time...
Li ChunJun seemed to have been driven into a corner.
But before the Martial Artists could show their delight, Li ChunJun—who appeared to have nowhere left to go—beheaded a Martial Artist attacking from behind with one stroke. Then he accelerated and strode forward.
In just a few strides, he reached the window, then leaped through it...
The wooden window, with no security bars and covered in impractical carvings and patterns, was thrown open by the force of his blow.
His form was as nimble as a swimming dragon as he slipped through the window and landed precisely on the lawn below.
This wasn't his first time at the Jin Family Courtyard.
He wasn't familiar with the layout of the buildings, exactly, but he knew it fairly well.
When he had charged up to the second floor and chosen this bedroom to fight a retreating battle, he had already prepared himself to use the window as an escape route.
Now he leaped down, landed on the thick lawn, and rolled with the impact. He was practically unharmed.
By contrast, the Martial Artists brave enough to follow him down were met by Li ChunJun, who had already regained his footing. He killed two of them with a single stroke each.
Blood sprayed.
The sight made the guests outside, who had no idea what had happened inside, scream in terror.
The scene descended into chaos.
But after seeing what had happened to the two Martial Artists who had leaped down, the rest...
Though they crowded around the window, not one of them dared follow.
Still, they reacted quickly.
"Quick! Take the stairs!"
"The first floor is wide open, with nowhere to hide. Let's see where he'll run then!"
"People have their limits. A fight this intense must be draining him badly. There are dozens, maybe hundreds of us. He can't kill us all. He's doomed!"
Some turned back toward the stairs, while others headed for the windows of other rooms to jump down, avoiding Li ChunJun, who was waiting below to kill them one by one.
At that moment, everyone seemed to see hope of victory.
And Li ChunJun...
Clearly had no intention of waiting for them downstairs.
He glanced at the still-open front door, then strode toward the main hall.
By now, he had killed twenty or thirty people, and the clothes he had just changed into at the Sword Tasting Hall were stained with blood.
With a Sharp Sword in hand and killing intent surging around him, he sent the ordinary guests who weren't even allowed inside fleeing in screams wherever he went.
In a few strides, Li ChunJun returned to the main hall.
Only then did dozens of Martial Artists hurry down from upstairs.
Li ChunJun swept his gaze over them...
Their numbers had fallen below sixty.
But that wasn't the important part. What mattered was that hardly any of them were decent fighters anymore.
There weren't even enough Internal Strength experts to count on one hand.
As for him, though he had spent a good deal of energy...
The comprehensive enhancement granted by his level-nine Life Level left him with almost no weaknesses.
His stamina was no exception.
Though he was indeed a little tired now, killing these fewer than sixty Martial Artists was well within his capabilities.
With that thought, Li ChunJun entered the main hall. Under the anxious gazes of the wealthy merchants and powerful figures who had not yet managed to leave, he expressionlessly closed the door, which seemed to have been replaced or maintained not long ago.
"Thud."
As the door shut, the inside and outside were instantly cut off from each other, like two separate worlds.
