"Do you even know what you're saying!?"
Outside the Stone Chamber, Chen Shuanghua blocked Ji Lanjun's path. Hearing that the latter intended to take Xi Youmeng's place in fulfilling some condition by performing a Gentle Dance for Lu Feng, anxiety and indignation filled her face.
"Young Miss, who are you? How can you dance that sort of dance for a man?" Meng Jiuxiang stood stubbornly before Ji Lanjun as well, his face full of distress as he earnestly urged, "In all the world, what man could possibly be worthy of a dance from you, Young Miss?"
Ji Lanjun clenched her silver teeth and drew a deep breath. "My mind is made up. Youmeng was forced to agree to such a condition under that wicked thief's lecherous tyranny because of me. I cannot stand idly by, much less let her bear the stigma of forgetting kindness and breaking faith."
Her voice grew colder toward the end. "Don't worry. I won't give this matter any chance to spread. Later, I will find a way to gouge out that man's eyes and have him sliced alive, so he can keep his mouth shut forever."
"Um..." Meng Jiuxiang hesitated before saying, "Young Miss, do you know what kind of dance a Gentle Dance is?"
"Of course I do," Ji Lanjun replied. "Second Uncle mentioned it before he passed away. I even specifically asked him about it back then. Isn't it a type of dance somewhere between the strength and gallantry of Sword Dance and the sensual temptation of Seductive Dance? The kind often performed at banquets to enliven the honored guests' drinking. It's fine. I can handle it. After all, I studied Sword Dance for some time, so I have the foundation."
Meng Jiuxiang and Chen Shuanghua exchanged looks, their faces darkening in unison.
