Summer Yao vs. Kachi

The playground fell deathly silent.

Xia Yao stared blankly at the finger Kachi had hooked beneath Chu He's chin. It was slender and fair, but now it looked like a poisonous barb, driven deep into her eyes.

Her voice was quiet, yet ice-cold.

"Kachi, what are you doing?"

Only then did Kachi slowly withdraw her hand, as if she had merely brushed away a speck of dust.

She turned to face Xia Yao. There was not a trace of guilt in her starry eyes; instead, they glimmered with a strange light.

"Yao Yao, I thought it over all night and figured it out." Her words were light, but they struck Xia Yao's heart like a sledgehammer. "I like him."

She paused, then added something that nearly made Xia Nuo's eyes pop out of his head.

"We can compete fairly. Of course, if you really can't accept that... I wouldn't mind being the second wife."

Xia Yao's breath caught. She stared at the friend she had grown up with, unable to believe it. Kachi felt terrifyingly unfamiliar.

"What did you say? Didn't Chu He tell you he's my man?"

"He did."

"But you're not married, so why can't I like him? Good things—no, good men—are meant to be shared."

Xia Yao's chest heaved with anger, and her voice rose. "Weren't you the one who hated men most? Have you forgotten what you said? That even if you died, you'd never fall for any male!"

"Oh, I was young and ignorant. I said the wrong thing." Kachi playfully stuck out her tongue, but her gaze drifted toward Chu He, tinged with reminiscence. "I've changed my mind. He... smells so good."

"You—" Xia Yao pointed at her, too angry to speak. "If you've changed your mind, then don't steal my man!"

"Stop going on about 'your man.'" The smile gradually faded from Kachi's face, replaced by a hint of provocation. "I've slept with him too."

Boom!

Those words rang through Xia Yao's mind like a thunderbolt from the heavens.

A terrifying aura beyond words erupted from Xia Yao!

This wasn't the deliberate pressure she had released earlier. It was pure destructive intent, rising from the depths of her soul!

The hard concrete playground cracked inch by inch around her. From the pitch-black fissures surged a heart-stopping, formless darkness!

Chu He's heart shuddered. This was Xia Yao's true power! It was countless times stronger than her younger brother!

Xia Nuo was completely dumbfounded.

Three days! It had only been three days since this batch of humans had arrived!

His fearless older sister, and the shrewd Kachi—two SSS-Class beings—had both been won over by this human?

Could that kiss really have such terrifying power, making them fall for him so completely in an instant?

Faced with the darkness threatening to devour everything, Kachi only sneered.

"Come on, then! You think I'm scared of you?"

In an instant, a completely different power burst from her petite body! It wasn't darkness or destruction, but a dazzling brilliance beyond compare! Countless stars shimmered around her, and the ground beneath her feet became a deep, star-filled sky, gorgeous and deadly!

One black, one multicolored—their two utterly different, terrifying forces clashed wildly across the playground. The air was torn apart, letting out a shrill wail!

Caught between them, Chu He felt sweetness in his throat and couldn't stop himself from spitting out blood.

He had no doubt that if his body hadn't been completely transformed, those two forces would have ripped him to pieces by now!

He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and shouted with all his strength, "Yao Yao! You promised me last night!"

"You said last night that if Kachi liked me too, you'd let her be the second wife!"

"She forced me, but I don't want you two to turn against each other and hurt one another!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Xia Yao's frenzied aura faltered. A flicker of conflict and confusion passed through her eyes, which burned with black flames.

At his words, Kachi froze, then immediately lit up with joy. Her gaze toward Chu He was practically dripping with affection.

He really does care about me!

He even told Xia Yao!

Xia Yao stared hard at Chu He, then at Kachi, who looked smug and even raised an eyebrow at her. Rage in her chest battled fiercely against the promise in her mind.

But why should she share her man with someone else? Especially her best friend!

After a long while, she forced the words through clenched teeth.

"I did say that... but we still have to fight!"

"Then let's fight!" Kachi was eager for battle. "It's too cramped here, and we'll just get in each other's way. Let's take it to the sky!"

Before her words had even faded, she turned into a dazzling streak of light and shot upward!

Xia Yao gave a cold snort. The darkness around her contracted sharply, wrapped around her, and carried her away like a bolt of black lightning!

Countless blades of starlight shot toward the darkness like a rainstorm, only to vanish silently the instant they touched its edge, without even causing a ripple.

Then a giant hand made of pure darkness reached out from the void, blotting out the sky as it grabbed at the galaxy!

Xia Nuo tipped his head back, mouth agape, staring blankly at the divine battle in the sky. He felt as if his entire worldview had been crushed and ground to pieces over and over that morning.

He'd only come over to tease his sister and see his brother-in-law. How had things turned into this?

He glanced at Chu He, who was also looking up beside him, his thoughts in turmoil.

What kind of monster was this man...?

Chu He gazed up at the two world-destroying storms of energy, his heart pounding.

So this was a battle between two SSS-Class anomalies? It was terrifying!

He shouted at the sky, "Stop! Stop it! Please, stop fighting!"

Unfortunately, his voice didn't even make it beyond the playground before it was torn apart by the invisible shockwaves of energy.

At this rate, they might punch a hole straight through the planet.

He looked away and turned to Xia Nuo, who was just as stunned. Unable to hold back, he asked, "Hey, little brother-in-law, they're not going to seriously hurt each other, are they?"
