Yang Fan leaped gracefully off the fighting platform, his sleeves fluttering as he landed beside Tang Yi.
He casually wiped the sweat from his brow and winked at his close friend, the Inner Sect's number one. "Brother Tang, I nearly gave my life out there. Now..."
He deliberately drew out his words. "All my hopes rest on you."
Tang Yi didn't even glance at him. His figure abruptly blurred into a streak.
Everyone's vision flickered. The dark-robed figure was already standing atop the platform like a solitary peak.
He said nothing, only quietly watching Su Yu as he recovered, his gaze deep as an abyss.
He could tell, of course, that although Su Yu had won his fight with Yang Fan, he had also expended a great deal of energy.
The white-robed youth was seated cross-legged, spiritual energy circulating around him. Clearly, he was using a Spirit Gathering Pill to restore his strength.
Tang Yi stood with his sword in hand at the edge of the platform, straight as a pine.
He didn't hurry Su Yu. Instead, he deliberately reined in his aura so as not to disturb his recovery.
A quarter of an hour later, Su Yu slowly opened his eyes.
His gaze was bright as the stars. He clasped his hands toward Tang Yi in a formal salute. "Thank you for waiting, Senior Brother."
"As it should be." Tang Yi finally spoke, his voice ringing like clashing gold and jade.
He drew his sword with a reverse grip. In the sunlight, its edge gleamed with the chill of frost and snow.
Without another word, both men moved at once!
Tang Yi's footwork wasn't as elusive as Yang Fan's, but it was every bit as good as Su Yu's.
More astonishing still, his cultivation at the Spirit Condensation Realm
