Background
Lu Cang arrives in another world with magic, class advancement, dungeons, and adventuring. Alone in his room for the first time since transmigrating, he begins experimenting with magic by creating a flame in his palm. 6
He becomes Izpalut's personal disciple and quickly earns attention among adventurers after reportedly soloing a Tier 2 dungeon on his first adventure. Though uncomfortable with the publicity, he trains relentlessly, studies magic theory and history, and uses commissions to test his strength and gain combat experience. 23 30 47
After initially waiting for Izpalut and the others to determine his path, Lu Cang resolves to act independently. He recruits a dungeon party through the Adventurer's Guild and begins exploring the world on his own initiative. 32
Lu Cang later joins the Kingdom of Loren, where he gains access to restricted knowledge concerning ancient lairs, dungeons, forbidden magic, and the origin of Mages. He subsequently becomes Loren's Chief Mage, though he remains focused primarily on personal growth rather than state affairs. 139 204
As his strength grows, he learns that his transmigration and spirituality may not have been accidental. He identifies himself as a human from Earth, a transmigrator, and a being tied to reincarnation, the Tree of Wisdom, and the “Highest Leaf.” 549
Personality
Lu Cang is intensely driven to become stronger. He recognizes that his exceptional talents make an ordinary life impossible to accept, and he pursues new magic, professions, combat methods, and equipment with persistent focus. 81 333
He is cautious by nature, preferring preparation, reconnaissance, escape routes, and overwhelming advantages before taking risks. Before infiltrating a Forbidden Hall, he spends two days checking for observers, traps, and detection artifacts. 168 His caution also extends to combat, where he carries extensive defensive items and creates sacrificial escape routes. 103 149
Despite this caution, Lu Cang can be pragmatic and morally ambiguous when pursuing power. He considers poisoning allies, stealing valuables, using forbidden materials, and exploiting secret treasures when he believes he can justify it to himself. 130 175 He nevertheless protects people in immediate danger, honors his promise to Izpalut by aiding the Land of Seeing the Moon, and refuses Lotdan's treasury after saving the region. 469 484 493
He is capable of humility and self-correction. After underestimating Leng Qingying, he acknowledges his arrogance and reassesses how he approaches weaker opponents. 336
