• Laozi rejected Xuandu’s suggestion to seek help from Shennong, saying Nuwa would not interfere in a Heavenly Dao matter.

After learning that God Conferment required an enormous number of divine positions, Zu Long sought advice from Dao Xuan and the others in the Return to Void. Their account of a past God Conferment left Ling Xi questioning whether the current divine positions served the same purpose.

• Zhunti worried that Xuan Qing might expose the Buddhist Sect’s plans, while Jieyin urged him to wait and consider using the Demon Clan members they had recruited.
• Zu Long, Ancestor Kirin, and another companion discussed the burden of filling the Investiture of the Gods, and Zu Long went to seek guidance from Dao Xuan.
• Zu Long told Dao Xuan and the others that the Prehistoric Era had advanced into an Origin Dao Realm, astonishing them with its rapid growth.
• Dao Xuan explained that their God Conferment had been a minor Measure Tribulation, but Zu Long revealed that the current decree involved all nine Heavenly Dao Saints and a vast number of divine positions.

Zu Long learned that physical bodies could take divine positions while their True Spirits remained free, and that the Prehistoric Era might gain dozens of Sacred Venerable Fruit Positions. He and the Three Tribes then sought the Investiture of the Gods, while Tongtian arrived with the same goal and persuaded Yuanshi by pretending to repent.

Tongtian and Zu Long’s group discovered the Investiture of the Gods’ secret and agreed to share its divine positions, while Yunxiao arranged for Dapeng to swear an oath by Xuan Qing. Xuan Qing observed their plans and realized the Investiture held far greater opportunities, including forty Heavenly Dao Saint positions.

• Yuanshi gave the Investiture of the Gods to Tongtian, who returned to Golden Ao Island with Zu Long and the other two following him.
• Tongtian sealed Biyou Palace with the Four Swords of Zhu Xian, and Zu Long and the other two revealed what they had learned about the Investiture.
• Tongtian agreed to give the Three Tribes chief god positions while reserving the larger share for the Jie Sect, and the others accepted.
• Yunxiao offered Dapeng an opportunity on the condition that he swear an oath by Xuan Qing, and Dapeng reluctantly did so.
• Xuan Qing sensed the oath and saw the Investiture’s hidden potential, including forty additional Heavenly Dao Saint positions, as well as the alliance between Tongtian and Zu Long’s group.
