Ch. 541Human Marriage Completed, Human Ethics Established

Nuwa presided over Fuxi and Tai Zhen’s marriage, establishing Human Marriage and a new Human Dao rule. • Nuwa blessed the Human Race and presided over Fuxi and Tai Zhen’s marriage, establishing Human Marriage and imprinting Human Ethics upon Human Dao Destiny.
  • Fuxi and Tai Zhen received merit, formed Merit Golden Wheels, and became models for marriage, whose custom spread throughout the Human Race.
  • One hundred thousand years later, Fuxi and Tai Zhen’s child displayed powerful illusory eyes, so Han Xi sealed them and warned that he must not take part in major Human Race affairs.
  • Han Xi went to the Starry Sky and asked Xuan Qing why the child carried such a strong Earth Dao aura.
  • Xuan Qing completed the Creation Primordial Chaos Platform and expanded the law passageway, causing the Starry Sky to extend more quickly into the Netherworld.

Ch. 542Kunpeng's Stubbornness

Fuxi sought a way to protect the Human Race from disasters, and Han Xi pointed him toward creating a new method of deduction before retrieving the River Diagram and Luo Script from Kunpeng. After visiting Xuan Wu in the Extreme North, Han Xi had not yet revealed why he had come.

  • Han Xi arranged for Xuan Wu to bring the River Diagram and Luo Script to Fuxi, who recognized the opportunity and began studying them alongside the patterns on Xuan Wu’s shell.
  • As the Human Race faced a food crisis, Nu Deng of the Lie Shan Tribe became pregnant after a divine light entered her body, and her tribe cared for her while awaiting the child’s birth.

Ch. 544Lie Shan Shi Is Born

Fuxi returned to his former identity as the Human Race’s Fuxi, reached the Quasi-Saint realm, and began developing a divination method ordinary humans could use. In the Lie Shan Tribe, Lie Shan Shi was born with a monstrous appearance, and Xuandu intervened to stop the tribe from executing him.

  • Fuxi severed his obsession with the Human Race, recovered his memories as the former Demon Emperor, and declared that he would henceforth be only the Human Race’s Fuxi.
  • Fuxi accepted Xuan Wu’s Tortoise Shell and renamed him Cang Shuo, then began seeking a form of the Innate Eight Trigrams that ordinary humans could use.
  • After 10,800 years of gestation, Nu Deng gave birth to Lie Shan Shi, whose antlers, scales, and Qilin tail frightened the Lie Shan Tribe.
  • The Lie Shan Tribe decided to execute Lie Shan Shi, but Xuandu appeared and declared him the Human Race’s second Co-Lord.

  • Xuandu explained Lie Shan Shi’s origins to the Lie Shan Tribe and instructed them not to give him special treatment.
  • Lie Shan Shi’s unusual features disappeared, and his mother Nu Deng died when he was five, leaving him an orphan cared for by the clan.
  • Sixteen years later, Xuandu met Lie Shan Shi by the Jiang River, and Lie Shan Shi asked him to become his teacher.
  • Xuandu taught Lie Shan Shi cultivation and later helped him investigate the Human Race’s food shortages.
  • Lie Shan Shi reasoned that Heaven and Earth gave selflessly and that people should contribute before harvesting, then proposed carefully tending wild grasses and spiritual fruit.

Ch. 546Five Grains Secure the Human Race

  • Fuxi created the Later Heaven Bagua, sensed that his Merit Completion was near, and asked the Human Race’s leaders to recommend his successor.
  • One of the Human Race’s leaders said he had someone to recommend as the next Co-Lord.

Ch. 547Fuxi Meets Shennong

  • Fuxi abdicated at a ceremony in Wanqiu City and named Shennong as his successor, while Han Xi redirected the merit meant for her to the Human Race.
  • Fuxi gathered the merit into his Merit Golden Wheel as Human Dao Destiny surged and a seal descended from Phoenix Nest Mountain.

Ch. 549Human Dao's First Saint

Fuxi became the Human Race’s first Saint and completed his role as its Co-Lord, overcoming the Heavenly Dao Saints’ attempt to interfere with his fate. As Fuxi handed the Human Race’s leadership to Shennong, Tai Zhen entered Queen Mother of the West, who awakened and called Fuxi her husband.

  • Fuxi’s cultivation rose to Saint, and he rejected the Demon Emperor title, declaring himself solely a member of the Human Race.
  • Fuxi used the Kongtong Seal to suppress the Human Race’s fortune, while Han Xi and Nuwa stopped Yuanshi and the other Saints from sending him to Fire Cloud Cave.
  • Laozi accepted Fuxi’s appointment as the Human Race’s Heavenly Emperor, and the Saints, Han Xi, and the Three Ancestors acknowledged his status.

  • Xuan Qing met Hui Xi beside the river and offered to make him his disciple, but Hui Xi asked to learn how to change the Human Race.

Ch. 551New Changes in Heaven and Earth

Xuan Qing accepted Hui Xi as his disciple and told him to keep studying life and death, while Fuxi reunited with Nuwa and planned to bring his former followers to Heluo Divine Continent. Shennong faced worsening problems as the Human Race spread into poorer lands, where declining spiritual qi and cultivation threatened its survival.

  • Xuan Qing warned Hui Xi not to distort the rules of life and death, accepted him as a disciple, and told him to seek him at Hua Xu Mountain after gaining further understanding.

  • Nuwa reminded Fuxi to gather the people who had served him, and Fuxi prepared to return to the Human Race and visit the ancestral land.
  • Shennong promoted the Five Grains and discovered that distant tribes, especially those near the Western Lands, were abandoning the Holy Mother and worshipping the Western saints.
  • Human Dao's manifestation changed the distribution of spiritual qi as the Human Race expanded into poorer regions, where declining aptitude and cultivation made people vulnerable to illness and disasters.
  • The Human Race's upper ranks warned Shennong that the worsening conditions could cause another devastating blow unless they were resolved soon.

Ch. 552Another Unexpected Change

Shennong left the Human Race’s center to seek a cure for its disease, while Xuan Qing guided Hui Xi to reconsider what the Human Dao meant. Xuan Qing then gave Laozi Spiritual Treasures for Shennong before the Heavenly Dao appeared over Golden Ao Island, where Tongtian had apparently succeeded at something that provoked it.

  • Shennong left with Xuandu to search personally for a cure, and Xuan Qing and Hui Xi stopped the Human Race elders from pursuing him.
  • Xuan Qing took Hui Xi among the Human Tribes and taught him that ordinary people’s happiness could also be their Dao, while the Human Dao reflected the will of all living beings.

  • Xuan Qing told Fuxi and the others that Tongtian had condensed a Dao Flower and achieved Primordial Chaos Great Luo.
  • Tongtian pulled a golden thread toward the Heavenly Dao Origin, and the Heavenly Dao threatened to destroy him unless he abandoned his path.
  • Tongtian refused to give up and poured his essence, energy, and spirit into his Dao Flower, freeing half of his Dao Fruit from the Heavenly Dao Origin.
  • The Heavenly Dao summoned Purple Cloud Divine Thunder to strike Tongtian, but Xuan Qing’s green Lotus Throne blocked the lightning.
  • Xuan Qing urged the Heavenly Dao to spare Tongtian and proposed letting him achieve Primordial Chaos Great Luo while keeping his True Spirit in the Heavenly Dao Origin Space.

Ch. 554Tongtian's Success

  • After the Heavenly Dao stopped Tongtian’s True Spirit, Xuan Qing urged him to break through, and Tongtian merged his Dao Fruit into the Dao Flower and entered the River of Great Dao.
  • The Heavenly Dao warned Tongtian that he remained a Saint beneath its control, then departed as the divine thunder vanished.
  • Tongtian thanked Xuan Qing and Hongjun, while Xuan Qing refused to retrieve Tongtian’s True Spirit from the Heavenly Dao.
  • Zhunti and Jieyin left Golden Ao Island in alarm, and Tongtian dismissed Yuanshi’s anger toward them.
  • Yuanshi asked whether the other Saints could break free of the Heavenly Dao, and Xuan Qing explained that their cultivation paths made Tongtian’s method fatal for them.
  • Laozi accepted that he should continue along the path of Sainthood, and Xuan Qing suggested that a future transformation of Heaven and Earth might change the Saints as well.

Ch. 555Yao Ji's Birth

Xuan Qing told the Saints that the Prehistoric Era’s changes were strengthening heaven and earth, and allowed Laozi and Yuanshi to pursue Auspicious Qi so long as they respected his limits. As Haotian lost control of the Heavenly Court, his newly born sister Yao Ji suggested seeking help from the Human Race, leaving him eager but unsure how to win Fuxi’s support.

  • Nuwa asked Xuan Qing whether the changes in the Prehistoric Era were good or bad, and he said the stronger Three Daos had made cultivation faster and heaven and earth more stable.
  • Xuan Qing warned Zhen Yuanzi not to pursue Earth Dao God Conferment yet, and the group later left Golden Ao Island.
  • Nanji and Wudang controlled the Heavenly Court while Haotian seethed over being abandoned by its immortals and gods.
  • Yao Ji emerged from Lesser Yin Qi, greeted Haotian and Yaochi, and asked Haotian what was troubling him.
  • Yao Ji advised Haotian to approach the Human Race and enlist Fuxi’s help, and Haotian decided to visit him.
  • Yao Ji cautioned that Fuxi would not oppose two Saints without a compelling reason, leaving Haotian asking how they could win his support.

Ch. 556Haotian's Reincarnation

Haotian split off most of his Primordial Spirit and entered reincarnation after Houtu imposed a delay and a great burden of tribulations. Meanwhile, Shennong continued tasting herbs, married Ting'ao, and had a daughter, while Xuandu returned to Shouyang Mountain to ask Laozi for help.

  • Haotian severed more than half of his Primordial Spirit and cast it into reincarnation, prompting Gonggong and Houtu to investigate his unexpected entry into the Book of Life and Death.
  • Haotian asked Houtu to permit his reincarnation, and Xuan Qing allowed it only after Shennong attained the Dao; Houtu marked Haotian with 108,900 tribulations and sent him into Reincarnation.
  • Shennong continued tasting herbs despite repeated poisonings, and Xuandu's Golden Elixir eventually became less effective against the accumulated toxins.
  • After Xuandu left to seek help, Ting'ao found the unconscious Shennong, cared for him, and later became his wife; they had a daughter named Nüwa.
  • Xuandu returned to Shouyang Mountain and asked Laozi to help save Shennong.

Ch. 557Bestowing Treasures upon Shennong

  • Laozi gave Xuandu three treasures from the Dao Venerable and told him not to interfere too much in Shennong's path.
  • Xuandu returned to find Shennong unconscious and fed him the Enlightenment Pill, which purged the accumulated toxins from his body.
  • Shennong awoke feeling renewed, and Xuandu explained that a mighty figure connected to the Human Race had sent the pill.
  • The Shennong Cauldron recognized Shennong as its master, and Xuandu gave him the Hundred Herbs Whip to aid his search for medicinal herbs.

  • Zhunti and Jieyin targeted Shennong as part of their scheme against the Human Race and concealed the heavenly secrets near the seashore.
  • Nüwa wandered to the sea, where the Black Dragon, consumed by fury, attacked her with a wave and killed her.
  • Nüwa’s body dissipated, leaving a tiny bird-shaped soul essence, and Shennong sensed her death and collapsed in grief.
  • Xuandu caught Shennong and promised to seek revenge and recover Nüwa’s soul.
  • Candle Dragon sensed the Dragon Clan’s Auspicious Qi diminish and ordered an investigation after a blood-red Karma Line connected the clan to the Human Race.
  • The Black Dragon saw Nüwa’s soul transform into a small, shimmering bird and realized she was not gone.

Ch. 559The Human Race's Fury

Nüwa’s death at the Black Dragon’s hands brought the Human Race and Dragon Clan to the brink of war, and their conflict erupted when Candle Dragon refused to revive her or surrender the Black Dragon. As Candle Dragon’s attack threatened the Human Race, Kong Xuan and an unknown red-robed Daoist arrived and stopped it.

  • The Glazed Little Bird began carrying branches into the sea, and Shennong recognized it as Nüwa.
  • Shennong and Xuandu confronted the Dragon Clan, and the Human Race demanded the Black Dragon be handed over for killing Nüwa.
  • Candle Dragon hesitated to surrender the Black Dragon, while Xuandu urged both sides to stay calm and Shennong offered to settle the matter if Nüwa could be revived.
  • Candle Dragon said he could not bring Nüwa back, and the Human Race and Dragon Clan began fighting over the East Sea.
  • Candle Dragon trapped the Human Race with the Law of Time and sent Dragon Clan attacks against them, but Kong Xuan and a red-robed Daoist appeared and stopped the assault.

Ch. 560Seeking Fuxi's Aid

Yan Ling rescued Nüwa from her bird form and took her to Azure Nether Island, while the crisis between the Human Race and Dragon Clan was averted. Xuandu asked Fuxi to seek justice for Shennong, and Fuxi set out as Zhunti realized his scheme had failed.

  • Yan Ling restored Nüwa to human form, promised Shennong they would meet again, and left with Jingwei and Kong Xuan after imprisoning Black Dragon.
  • Candle Dragon withdrew the Dragon Clan and ordered its juniors to stay away from Human Race territory, while Shennong resolved to work toward seeing Nüwa again.
  • Xuandu suspected the Western Lands Saints had plotted against Shennong and went to Heluo Divine Continent to ask Fuxi for help.
  • Fuxi learned what had happened, deduced the heavenly secrets with the River Diagram and Luo Script, and departed to handle the matter.
  • Zhunti realized the Dragon Clan and Human Race had not gone to war and that their Karma Line had been severed, then felt a sudden sense of dread as he tried to leave Mount Sumeru.
