Background / History

Suzuki is an inconspicuous high school student who wears glasses and has little contact with Inuyama Heita despite being his classmate. Heita recalls that she is good at one or two subjects but otherwise does not stand out at school. 6

Her mother becomes a fervent believer in the Lucky Mutual Aid Society, repeatedly offering it money and pressuring Suzuki to participate. When Matsui attempts to use a little ghost to possess Suzuki, Heita intervenes under the guise of accidentally bumping into Matsui, preventing the spirit from reaching her. Suzuki is unaware of the supernatural attack but thanks him for helping. 6

Suzuki later attends the society's ritual only because her mother threatens to disown her and withdraw her from school if she refuses. She puts on the black “lucky pendant,” but the smoke-formed infant bypasses her; the ritual is therefore never completed. 12 13 15 38

Although cautious around Qian and Heita, she is observant enough to follow Heita after noticing the staged nature of Matsui's rescue. She enters Qian's office only after preparing a message to summon the police, demonstrating both suspicion and practical self-protection. 26
