Heita's mother died of illness when he was young. His father later disappeared, leaving him an apartment; his grandmother sends him limited financial support from the countryside, while he works part-time to cover food and tuition. His ability to see ghosts caused alarming behavior at previous jobs, leading to repeated dismissals. 5

A severe illness several years earlier first caused him to experience what he believed were hallucinations. These visions became progressively clearer, eventually revealing themselves as spirits. Qian Xiaoyi identifies this as persistently opened clairvoyant eyes—an uncommon condition that cannot be reliably suppressed once awakened. 4

Heita's father joined a religious group after being affected by Heita's mother's death and by Heita's supernatural condition.
