Background / History

Xuanyuan Dapan was the feared ancestor of the Xuanyuan Family, residing and cultivating on Huishan’s Great Snow Plain. His favor toward Xuanyuan Qingfeng was connected to the original Wang Ritain being condemned after merely looking at her; Yuan Tingshan subsequently beat Wang to death. 2

When Wang Ritain massacred Xuanyuan Family members and killed Xuanyuan Jingxuan, Dapan demanded that the crisis be resolved quickly so the family would not become a laughingstock. Jingxuan’s Finger Profound Realm cultivation had previously been forcibly raised with Dapan’s assistance. 9 11

After learning of Jingxuan’s death, Dapan descended Huishan personally in fury. His emergence as a Great Celestial Phenomenon-level expert stirred the martial world, whose members initially believed Wang could not survive against him. 16

His confidence eroded as Wang’s strength grew. Though he repeatedly resolved to eliminate Wang, he delayed his attack after witnessing Wang’s feats at Wudi City, later fled rather than face him directly, and sought Dragon Tiger Mountain’s protection. 24 34 40 42

Xuanyuan Family Retaliation

Dapan first responds to Wang Ritain’s massacre by ordering his descendants to capture or kill him quickly. Wang’s killing of Xuanyuan Jingxuan escalates the conflict enough for Dapan to leave seclusion personally. 9 16

Watching Wudi City

Dapan travels near Wudi City intending to remove Wang, but hesitates after Wang defeats the Twelve Martial Slaves and Yu Xinlang before challenging Wang Xianzhi. He decides to wait until the outcome of Wang’s duel with Wang Xianzhi is clear. 24 34

Wang’s ability to injure Wang Xianzhi destroys Dapan’s confidence. He concludes that he is no longer Wang’s match and retreats to Huishan. 40 42

Defense of Huishan and Flight to Dragon Tiger Mountain

Dapan fortifies Huishan with Xuanyuan Family and Dragon Tiger Mountain formations, then attempts to bargain with Wang by offering to forgive all past grievances. Wang rejects him and shatters the defenses. 44 45

Terrified by the destruction of the Great Snow Plain formation, Dapan abandons his family and flees to Dragon Tiger Mountain, with Wang pursuing him. 46

Final Defeat

At Dragon Tiger Mountain, Dapan joins Zhao Huangchao and two Celestial Masters in an attempt to stop Wang. His true qi is absorbed during his attack, and Wang’s demonic blade sends him crashing to the ground. 47

After Dragon Tiger Mountain is devastated, Dapan hides among the ruins. Wang finds him, refuses to spare him, and kills him. 48
