Obsidian could only be mined with a diamond pickaxe.
Unless someone got a Diamond Pickaxe, or got incredibly lucky and found ten blocks of obsidian in a chest, there was no way to reach the Nether.
It was easy to tell from the brilliant blue pickaxe in Gu Yu's hand that he'd gotten diamonds.
"Damn, he got lucky!"
Yamamoto Rokuko cursed under his breath, feeling jealous.
If only Okamura had found them. Then the two of them could've dominated the Nether, and all the resources would've gone to the Samurai Nation!
But even if Gu Yu had found them...
Yamamoto Rokuko's eyes shifted. He stopped and hid nearby, deciding to stay and watch.
It was because of the Ghast and the Endermen that he'd been trapped in the Nether for so long. What a coincidence.
The monsters had sensed an enemy. The Ghast and the Endermen were coming!

"That thing destroyed Yamamoto Rokuko's Nether Gate and left him trapped in the Nether for days!"
"He should be going to the Twilight Forest. Why go to the Nether?"
"Maybe he doesn't know how to get to the Twilight Forest and was experimenting with obsidian when he accidentally activated the portal?"
"That makes sense. The Twilight Forest just appeared, and there's no way to get there yet!"

A fireball shot out, flying straight toward Gu Yu.

From Yamamoto Rokuko's perspective, the Ghast lived up to its name. It was a reaper chasing him through the Nether.
It could explode, set things ablaze, fly, and destroy blocks!
Without a ranged weapon, he couldn't even fight back. It was worse than a nightmare!
But when Gu Yu faced the very same monster, it seemed completely different.
It had only one attack. When it threw a fireball, he just batted it back, making it as if the monster were hitting itself.
The higher the damage, the bigger the explosion and the stronger the flames. What kind of Ghast was this?
It was an idiot!
The viewers were stunned. Yamamoto Rokuko was stunned too.
"You mean I spent all that time in the Nether without realizing the Ghast's attacks could be deflected?"
"And I almost fell into lava running from it, hiding inside stone every day just to survive?"

It was Yamamoto Rokuko's first time seeing the wooden-boat trick. His eyes widened in shock.
As he deflected another fireball, Gu Yu caught sight of the portal.
The Ghast flew unpredictably. It was only natural that he'd occasionally miss a fireball.
He had Flint and Steel on him. At worst, he could just light the portal again.
He'd anticipated this might happen and had prepared accordingly.
"The Nether is more dangerous, but once you understand the mechanics, it's nothing special."
MC Players had already pushed the game to its limits.
Compared to survival challenges like turning into a worm, playing on a single block, flat worlds, and diamond worlds, the Nether was child's play.
Especially since there were only a few Ghasts and Endermen around.
