Background
Yang Tian was once a celebrated prodigy of the hidden Yang family. He won challenges against talented cultivators across the Xuantian Continent, but Li Tianye defeated him in a single move. The loss shattered his confidence; his Dao heart was damaged, and his cultivation later stagnated at late Tribulation Crossing 54.
As an elder of the Heavenly Dragon Guard, Yang Tian intervened when Qin Hao’s battle with Bai Tianyang threatened Qingshi County. He used his Hun Tian Ding to contain the clash, then blocked a powerful figure attempting to take Bai Tianyang away, allowing Qin Hao to finish the fight 48 50. Afterward, he gave Qin Hao a Heavenly Spirit Fruit to heal his injuries, explained the realms of physical cultivation, and identified his dragon bloodline 52 53.
Seeing in Qin Hao the potential he felt he had squandered, Yang Tian urged him to seek resources and backing. He introduced Qin Hao to his friend Lu Kai, an elder of the body-cultivation sect Immovable Divine King Mountain 54 63 69. Later, during the Ghost Tribe invasion, Yang Tian served alongside the emperor, helped reinforce the Seven Star Ghost Emperor’s suppression formation, and led Tribulation Crossing cultivators against Ghost Tribe opponents 124 125 142.
Appearance
Yang Tian is about 1.8 meters tall, notably shorter than Qin Hao when he examines the younger man’s physique 53.
Personality
Yang Tian values talent and does not want Qin Hao to lose opportunities through a lack of support, as he believes happened to himself 54. He is protective but candid: he helps Qin Hao face dangerous enemies while warning him that talent alone cannot replace resources and backing 50 54. During Qin Hao’s battle with Mo Xingye, he intervenes to prevent both fighters from dying, then honors the agreement between humans and demonic beasts rather than attacking Mo Xingye 68.
