Background

Tang San grew up in Sacred Soul Village as Tang Hao’s younger son and Tang Yin’s younger brother. With Tang Hao frequently drunk or asleep, Tang Yin largely cared for Tang San; Tang San regarded his brother as the authority in their household and depended on him for survival and guidance. 1

Before his Spirit Awakening, Tang San learned blacksmithing from Tang Hao. He completed ten thousand strikes on an iron block, reducing it to roughly one-quarter of its original size, and identified the lesson as Hundred Refinements into Steel. Tang Hao instructed him to continue refining the iron until it reached the size of a fist. 2

At age six, Tang San awakened Blue Silver Grass and was found to possess Innate Full Soul Power. Fascinated by martial souls and Soul Rings, he questioned Old Jack about the risks of hunting Soul Beasts. 2 3 When offered Sacred Soul Village’s sole Work-Study Student place, he deferred to Tang Hao’s decision and initially offered to remain home to care for him. 4

Tang San later disclosed his second martial soul, the Clear Sky Hammer, to Tang Hao. After Tang Hao relented, Tang San left with Old Jack for Nuoding City Junior Spirit Master Academy. 5

Personality

Tang San is quiet, obedient, and considerate of his family. He avoids disturbing Tang Hao, worries about his father’s meals and drinking, and leaves a written farewell asking him to take care of himself. 1 5

He is also diligent and inquisitive. His repeated forging practice, interest in Soul Rings, and determination to test whether a Soul Ring can break through his Mysterious Heaven Skill bottleneck drive him toward becoming a Spirit Master. 2 3 5
