After enduring the Major Yin Tribulation and reaching the Yin Venerable realm, Xu Yi escaped the Zhou Family’s Third Elder while recovering in hiding.

• Xu Yi refused to surrender Yu Ji to the Chen Family, traded for a Heavenly God Chart fragment, and learned that Netherworld Divine Generals were the true souls of Yin Venerables who had left their bodies.
• Xu Yi rejected Zhou Zongshi’s recruitment offer, took the Earth Soul Talisman, and defeated Zhou’s lawsuit by exposing the contradictions in his account.

Xu Yi led the Huaixi candidates through the examination’s first trials, then entered the Abundant Sea Market to hunt demon cores. After defending his companions from rival examinees, he followed a mysterious pull underwater and entered a golden cage to question an imprisoned great demon.

• Xu Yi destroyed the Ghost Worm, learned that the Netherworld Divine General had been found murdered, and suspected Zhou Zongshi had impersonated him.
• Xu Yi endured Deng Blackface’s training, demonstrated his soul sense, and won the candidates’ leadership by defeating Gong Xiuhua.
• Xu Yi trained with the candidates and traveled to the Road Court, where Chen Xuan challenged him and the imperial examination began.

Xu Yi rescued the Golden Scale Young Master, earned his Court appointment, and returned to Great Yue through a spatial node. He found the kingdom conquered, reunited with Yuan Qinghua and Auspicious Duck, located Yan Zi, and clashed with the Zhou Family, imperial officials, and Buddhist monks.

• Xu Yi defeated the Crimson Gold Purple-Whiskered Lobster, then rescued the Huaixi candidates from their attackers and joined the battle against the Golden Scale Young Master and the Great Demons.
• Xu Yi captured the Golden Scale Young Master and helped him cross the barrier to Fierce Rhinoceros, then escaped the Abundant Sea Market and received a superlative rank as a Second-rank Star Official.
• Xu Yi returned to Huaixi, studied space fragments at the Ten Thousand Treasure Library, and used a spatial node to reach the Great Yue imperial mausoleum.
• Xu Yi visited old graves and learned from Yuan Qinghua that Great Yue had fallen, then gave Yuan Qinghua gold and promised to protect his family.
• Xu Yi found Auspicious Duck, who divined that Yan Zi was in the capital, and Xu Yi reunited with the aged Yan Zi at the imperial mausoleum.

Xu Yi returned to Great Yue, crushed the invading armies, and gathered resources to restore Yan Zi before bringing her to his sect. After taking a post in the Discipline Department, he maneuvered against his enemies and watched Big Beard Zhu accuse Feng Ting Shu in court over the stolen Hidden Spirit Pearl.
