White Fang withdrew his blade and, enduring the pain of his injuries, looked at Kakuzu. "Were you holding back? If you don't give this everything you've got, you'll die."
Using lightning release chakra to stimulate every cell in his body had done him tremendous harm, but it had also made him stronger.
So even with little chakra left, he was confident he could kill a few of them.

Kakuzu's expression was conflicted. "We only wanted to capture you, but that doesn't seem realistic anymore. You can't blame us for what happens next."

But he had intended to take him alive. Even if that proved impossible, restraining him would have been enough.
After all, they belonged to the same village, and White Fang hadn't been in the wrong this time.
