"Let's go!"
Crus's escape was unexpected by many; it was too sudden and surprising.
After all, he was a pirate with a bounty of 124 million. Currently, in the entire Demon Valley Town, no more than ten people had a higher bounty.
Most of those pirate crews only stopped by Demon Valley Town briefly. Their destination was the Grand Line's New World, not wasting time in a place like Demon Valley Town.
While Demon Valley Town was a pirate paradise, it mostly attracted low-tier pirates, with occasional mid-tier ones, but they were always a minority.
You could consider it a beginner's village.
Crus's retreat meant that Chaos possessed the strength of a pirate with a bounty over 100 million.
Not everyone could covet a pirate of this caliber.
Blood Thorn Pradanite, that fatty, immediately ordered his subordinates to retreat. Strictly speaking, he had some past grievances with Chaos. Now, he feared Chaos might target him, and it was better to avoid trouble.
There was also Reaper Tesys, Octopus Maniac Rotes, and other pirates whose bounties were over 80 million. They all understood how to read the situation and weren't mindless idiots.
The Golden Emperor's combat power had been tested. Even if he were defeated, so what?
He would definitely be injured, only to pave the way for someone else!
As these powerful pirates left, only some weak pirates remained. Crucially, these weak pirates couldn't comprehend the situation. Their eyes were completely blinded by gold, and they were sneakily trying to steal the golden weapons stuck in the ground.
Chaos leaned back, and a golden throne appeared, hovering in the air and looking down on the entire scene.
Sensing the pirates fleeing with golden weapons, Chaos could only think that there were all sorts of bizarre people.
Any gold that Chaos could control was equivalent to a part of Chaos's body, unless it exceeded the range Chaos could perceive. However, Chaos had already awakened Observation Haki and kept it active 24/7.
Although it was a significant drain on his mental energy, it was also a form of training.
With a thought, many screams erupted. All the gold returned and plummeted from the air, eventually merging into two five-meter-tall golden warriors. Then, the golden throne rippled and transformed into a palanquin, carried by the two golden warriors, one in front and one behind. It floated three feet off the ground, treading on air as it moved towards another street.
It looked effortless, but it was actually a severe burden on his mental strength.
This was clearly another form of training and development.
Maintaining this state meant Chaos was training every moment, both mentally and physically, under pressure and burden.
"Bastard!"
"So annoying."
Some pirates along the way had red eyes. Chaos's actions were too extravagant and too attention-grabbing.
They had never seen anyone so arrogant.
They wished they could hack him to death with a thousand blades, but Chaos thoroughly enjoyed those envious, jealous, and hateful glances from people who wanted to kill him but dared not act. This was the life he wanted.
High-profile, domineering!
His empty and lonely heart was momentarily filled.
The night passed without incident. Chaos found another tavern, preparing to conserve his energy for battle the next day.
He had his sights set on Reaper Tesys and Blood Thorn Pradanite. These two had decided his fate. Unfortunately, tonight wasn't satisfying enough; it fell far short of his expectations.
Besides some minor thugs, only Swordsman Crus showed up, and he ran off at the slightest disagreement.
There was no sense of tension at all!
Meanwhile, on the shimmering sea, a warship was rapidly approaching.
It would likely land in Demon Valley Town by tomorrow morning.
As the sun rose, a new day dawned.
On the west street of Demon Valley Town, Chaos stood on the balcony of the top floor of a hotel, looking at the clear blue sky and taking a deep breath of fresh air, his face radiant.
After resting for three to four hours last night, his spirit was full, and his body was brimming with strength.
His high-profile life began anew for the day.
Casually doing two thousand push-ups as a warm-up, Chaos opened the door and walked towards the lobby downstairs. First, he needed to fill his stomach, and then he would go trouble the Blood Thorn Pirate Crew.
A large mass of gold that had been leaning against the wall quickly transformed into three golden warriors, following him. As soon as he entered the lobby, they attracted the attention of the waitstaff and many pirates.
It was hard to imagine so many pirates drinking in the lobby so early in the morning. Some had been drinking since last night and were still going strong!
"Waiter, bring us the most expensive food in your establishment. Remember, only the most expensive. Bring fifty portions first."
"This is a tip for you."
Chaos snapped his fingers. A scrawny male waiter walked over, his eyes almost glued to the golden warriors sitting on the other three chairs.
As a fist-sized piece of gold floated before him, the waiter looked at Chaos as if he were his father.
His face turned red, and he was too excited to speak.
"Lord Golden Emperor, please wait a moment. We will certainly bring you the best food."
"Go!"
Chaos waved his hand. He truly wasn't interested in money.
"Wait!"
The waiter, holding gold in both hands, had barely taken a few steps before Chaos called him to a halt.
"Does the Golden Emperor have any other instructions?"
"All the bills for everyone present are on me."
As Chaos spoke, the entire hall fell silent.
All the pirates stared blankly at Chaos. Before anyone knew it, someone shouted, and the entire hall erupted in noise, nearly blowing the roof off the tavern.
"Golden Emperor, I admire you."
"I wanted to kill you just now, but now I respect you."
"You have the right to be arrogant."
"Cheers!"
"Anyone who doesn't drink until they're on the floor today is disrespecting the Golden Emperor."
"Let's go all out!"
"Waiter, bring me the most expensive dishes, the most expensive wine, and the most beautiful geishas!"
"W-we don't have geishas here!"
All the pirates roared, each indulging in compensatory spending. The envy, jealousy, and hatred filling the air could no longer be suppressed.
Chaos didn't care if these people were grateful or not. He just wanted to experience the feeling of "the entire venue's expenses are paid by Young Master Zhao"!
It was smooth.
And exhilarating!
It was already half an hour later when they left the tavern.
Just as Chaos had guessed, the owners of these taverns and gambling dens had their sources of information.
The Blood Thorn Pradanite he was looking for was three streets away.
He swaggered out ostentatiously, basking in the envious and hateful gazes of the crowd, which kept his mood at a pleasant level.
Meanwhile, on the sea.
"Rear Admiral Sakazuki, we've arrived at Demon Valley Town!"
On the warship, marines held their weapons, their faces solemn as they looked at Sakazuki emerging from his office.
They knew what kind of place Demon Valley Town was.
It was almost entirely populated by pirates.
They only had one warship, and their total personnel numbered only fifty. If they were to land just like that, it might be a bit reckless!
But everyone knew that Rear Admiral Sakazuki would not back down.
Even if all the pirates in Demon Valley Town united, they would fight to the last man without retreating.
Now, they could only hope that Rear Admiral Sakazuki wouldn't be so impulsive as to try and eliminate all the pirates in Demon Valley Town. If he did, the situation would surely spiral out of control.
If they were only there to apprehend the Blood Thorn Pirates, they believed other pirate crews wouldn't actively provoke them.
Especially since this warship was led by Sakazuki
