"Are you sure you want to eat this Devil Fruit?"
The sun was setting.
On the rooftop garden of the Gaia Building, Chaos turned the Devil Fruit over in his hands, examining it from every angle.
To him, this was a Devil Fruit with enormous potential. It could greatly benefit the development of Gold City—or, more specifically, the construction of their spaceship.
It involved space.
Whether for combat or support, its abilities would be top-notch.
He just hadn't expected Kuma to be interested in it.
"What's so good about this Devil Fruit? I can't see it at all."
"How does that casino stay in business? They gave someone seven hundred million berries for a single Devil Fruit?"
They were in the pavilion.
Kuma, Ivankov, Betty, and Baccarat were there.
Nobody else had come. They were all busy with their own affairs.
Kuma had brought the Devil Fruit back from the casino. Apparently, a pirate had lost all his money gambling, so he'd exchanged the fruit for seven hundred million berries.
That was perfectly legal at the casino. Devil Fruits weren't the only things accepted as payment; precious items like Seastone and famous blades could also be exchanged at market value at businesses under the Richest Group.
"I've read the Devil Fruit Encyclopedia. I'm really interested in some of the ways this fruit can be used!"
"But I still want to hear your thoughts, Boss. If this Devil Fruit has enough potential, I plan to eat it as my second ability."
Kuma looked at Chaos.
If Boss didn't approve, he'd give up on eating the fruit.
"This is a powerful Devil Fruit, and it has enormous potential!"
"Eating it will only make you stronger. Most importantly, this Devil Fruit could greatly support our development!"
Chaos thought back to what he knew.
