Lowbrow Fear (19)
That direction...
Amid the fear of death, this sudden turn of events was undoubtedly quite a jolt to the nerves.
As that thought crossed his mind, Fu Qian's first reaction was to quickly assess the location and height, and how they related to the path of those footsteps from earlier.
At the same time, he didn't waste any time. He went straight out of the women's restroom, putting an end to his discourteous behavior.
Once outside, Fu Qian immediately confirmed that the barely visible footprints really did lead toward the direction of the scream, and followed them.
This time, he still honored his promise not to count the room numbers, but he still didn't hear any piano music.
Fu Qian soon reached a spot near where the scream had come from.
It was tucked into a corner of the building, especially dark compared with the rest. At a glance, it was impossible to tell the living from the dead.
Fortunately, Fu Qian hadn't planned on telling them apart.
The next moment, his footsteps stopped without warning, and he casually flicked on a nearby switch.
The light was dim and yellow, but it still illuminated Mr. Wolf's figure clearly.
"Need any help?"
What's more, Fu Qian casually called out to the person in front of him.
After waiting quietly for a few breaths, a figure with a jacket wrapped around their head slowly emerged from behind a corner.
"Wolf?"
After a brief exchange of looks, the person even reached up and removed the jacket, staring at Fu Qian's face in confusion.
It was the person who had passed by the storage room.
Fu Qian had no trouble recalling the jacket's color and style. They were undoubtedly a match.
And there were the voice and the face, too.
