This one was even more of an extra.
They say people who get used to the dark often find it hard to look directly at the light. Fu Qian felt the truth of that deeply in that moment.
The figure staring this way beneath the lights, walking closer step by step, had a sheen of oil on his face so thick it looked ready to drip. It was almost painful to look at.
He seemed to be under a lot of pressure... and, as usual, he wasn't much of a talker.
That was right. He hadn't covered his face, and he looked familiar, too. The newcomer was one of the two support players at the party, the one who hadn't said a word the entire time.
The Twilight School incident seemed to have weakened the supernatural once again and strengthened reality, making it possible to explain things through human causes.
It wasn't certain yet, but the odds that he was the shadowy figure who'd been chasing after them didn't seem low.
And the person he'd just run into was indeed the one he'd expected to meet.
What was he doing here?
From the way he'd noticed the commotion and then steeled himself to come over, it wasn't hard to guess that he was also looking for Joshua.
"Tell me, what's the final outcome you want?"
Fu Qian gave him a slight nod in greeting. Ignoring the extra, who didn't seem to know how to react, he immediately adopted Mr. Wolf's manner and asked the other man to choose an ending.
"We... want to find Joshua."
The high-nosed student visibly froze. He seemed to remember that this wasn't what he'd asked a moment ago, but after hesitating, he finally made a wish.
And in doing so, he revealed
