The Whole Situation Spiraled Out of Control
Professor A Kai's research seemed to be bearing some impressive fruit.
Even from a fair distance away, Fu Qian could still sense the destructive force carried by the scythe.
It was no weaker than the oppressive presence this ship had exerted on them so far.
Even demigod Aiko probably couldn't have pulled off something like this. The most likely explanation was that Professor A Kai had triggered some kind of miracle.
But the way this miracle had manifested was clearly rather unfriendly.
In the blink of an eye, the scythe swept through everything around it with unstoppable force.
Amber, pillars, partitions... Everything within its radius was cut clean in half.
And that radius was still expanding, because with every rotation, the scythe's reach grew a little farther.
"That's impossible..."
After hurriedly retreating from the area with Aiko, Professor A Kai now stood beside Stos, who had arrived without a word. He was clearly mired in self-doubt, muttering his defense.
"I was trying to trigger a different miracle. It was only supposed to have a very minor effect on the surroundings. I can't understand why it turned out like this..."
That, at least, I believed.
Only now catching up with them, Fu Qian surveyed the ever-expanding area of destruction and found the explanation quite plausible.
A freewheeling approach to research was one thing under ordinary circumstances. But in a dangerous situation like this, while working alongside the Night Watcher, Professor A Kai wouldn't be so careless.
Besides, the two of them didn't seem to have noticed the series of disturbances above them.
"Is there a way to stop it?"
Sir Stos didn't seem to have much confidence in the discipline of the academy's professors. But after glancing at Aiko and seeing that she had
