In the evening, Uncle Darby, who had come to clean up the fruit grove, looked utterly bewildered.
The open space outside the Fruit Grove at this moment looked as if it had been plowed by a rhinoceros, soft and pitted everywhere.
Gazing into the distance, he finally saw Aiven, riding on an Ironclad Rhinoceros, walking towards him along with the setting sun.
"Aiven, did the Ironclad Rhinoceros do this?" Uncle Darby asked immediately upon seeing Aiven return.
Aiven nodded and patted the Ironclad Rhinoceros beneath him. The little guy looked exhausted, having been too excited earlier.
Now, due to the prolonged use of the Digging Move, the Ironclad Rhinoceros appeared somewhat listless. Using moves was very draining for a Spirit.
"Uncle Darby, it's time to expand the farm's Fruit Grove."
Upon hearing Aiven's words, Darby hesitated. The reason they hadn't planted fruit trees in the open space in front of the Fruit Grove before was because the soil here wasn't suitable for fruit tree growth.
But when he thought of Aiven's miraculous potions, Darby felt a bit more confident. Perhaps irrigating with Fertilizer here could improve the soil.
"I'll plant fruit trees here when spring arrives next year," Uncle Darby finally nodded, deciding to give it a try.
"Until then, let's use this area to grow fodder grass. It can also serve as a food source for the Ironclad Rhinoceros," Aiven added smoothly.
Uncle Darby strongly agreed with this point. The Ironclad Rhinoceros's appetite was truly enormous; they had to find a way to ensure self-sufficiency.
Besides, Walking Grass also liked grassy areas. The land, after being plowed, was perfect for Walking Grass to live in, Aiven added mentally.
The next morning.
Uncle Darby was as prompt as ever.
Early in the morning, he went to the nearby town to buy grass seeds, intending to plant fodder grass.
By the time Aiven woke up, Uncle Darby had already returned, and the two headed towards the Fruit Grove.
The Ironclad Rhinoceros had also arrived at the open space early and was currently using its Digging Move to till the land again.
Seeing Aiven approach, the Ironclad Rhinoceros happily trotted over. The thought of being able to do something for its master filled it with energy.
"Dolls, dolls."
The Petilil greeted the Ironclad Rhinoceros cheerfully before hopping into the plowed field.
Although the energy here couldn't compare to Fertilizer, the rich vitality still made it feel relaxed and comfortable.
"Let's start planting."
"Normally, fodder grass sprouts within three days and grows to maturity in about a month," Uncle Darby said with a smile, scattering the grass seeds into the tilled earth.
But just as he finished speaking, he suddenly saw the grass seeds scattered on the ground sprout and grow rapidly.
"What's going on?" Uncle Darby's eyes widened in disbelief.
He had just said the fodder grass would sprout in three days, so what was happening with it sprouting instantly? Wasn't that slapping his own face?
Aiven chuckled softly beside him. After a moment, he said, "This is the Digging Move. When it tills the land, it fills the soil with vitality."
He explained the effect of the Digging Move with a smile. Listening to the explanation, Uncle Darby's mouth hung open. This was the first time he had witnessed such a miraculous Magical Beast ability!
I knew it, Spirits are the primary productive force. This is just the beginning, Aiven thought with a smug smile.
He wondered what expression Uncle Darby would have when he saw Cherrim use the Sunny Day weather.
And then there was the Grassy Terrain Move, even more powerful than the Digging Move. That would create a patch of grass instantly, from nothing to something. Uncle Darby's eyes would surely pop out then.
Although the Digging Move could create an environment suitable for plant growth, it couldn't mature the fodder grass in an instant.
However, according to Uncle Darby's estimation, the fodder grass would be fully grown in just a day or two, which was already an incredibly fast growth rate.
Thinking of this, an idea struck Darby. He wondered if the Ironclad Rhinoceros could use the Digging Move within the Fruit Grove.
But then he thought of the entire area being plowed over and shook his head. Those fruit trees couldn't withstand the Ironclad Rhinoceros's destructive power. Perhaps they could try it when replanting after the fruit had been harvested.
Three days, just as promised.
Standing before a row of grass, Darby nodded with satisfaction.
The open space in front of the Fruit Grove had now completely transformed into a lush green meadow.
The Ironclad Rhinoceros galloped joyfully through the grove, occasionally lowering its head to nibble on the fodder grass, feeling truly blissful.
The Petilil and the Cherubi had also moved their play area to this meadow, basking in the sun and growing happily.
But this was tough luck for little Andy, who loved playing with the Spirits. This open meadow offered no shade, and it was just too hot.
Nai nai nai~
The Walking Grass's mood was incredibly complex.
The words spoken to it by that human earlier flashed through its mind. During this time, he had indeed fulfilled his promises well.
Whether it was the Fruit Grove filled with miraculous energy before or this lush green meadow now, the Walking Grass felt like it had found its true home.
One day, the Walking Grass proactively approached Aiven. It wanted to tell him how much it liked it here and that it wanted to stay forever, just like the Petilil and the Cherubi.
"Walking Grass, do you like it here?"
Aiven looked at the shy Walking Grass before him, crouched down, and smiled.
The Walking Grass paused for a moment before nodding enthusiastically. It truly loved this place!
"Then make this place your home, just like the Petilils and Cherubi," Aiven said.
Upon hearing Aiven's words, the Walking Grass looked up sharply, gazing intently at the human before it, its eyes seeming to sparkle.
After a while, the Walking Grass nodded vigorously, placing the leaves on its head into Aiven's hand, its eyes curving into crescents.
In the time that followed, the Walking Grass, as if having found its place, completely integrated into the farm, actively playing with the Cherubi.
Aiven smiled, pleased with successfully recruiting the Walking Grass. He then muttered, "But so much time has passed, why haven't any other Walking Grass come to the farm?"
In the sky above, a Mukkuru flew past. It glanced briefly at the Spirits playing on the grass before flying back to the Fruit Grove on its own.
