A full 200-man Knight Order had set out from the City of Ambition.
They had been ordered to clear the Monsters from the City of Ambition's territory and prepare for the approaching Gui Xu Beast Tide.
Todd was the deputy commander of the City of Ambition Knight Order. Even now, he still vividly remembered the Beast Tide from five years ago.
"Commander Todd, why are we clearing Monsters from the territory now?"
A young knight in gleaming light armor asked as he rode beside Todd. He breathed out a cloud of air. The weather was unbearably cold.
At the young knight's question, the other knights also looked over in confusion.
Normally, they set out when the heavy winter snow was about to melt. This time, it was still midwinter, and the snow had yet to fall.
Todd glanced at the knight who had spoken and furrowed his brow slightly. He remembered that the young man was the son of a baron from the City of Ambition.
He found it a headache that the noble lords insisted on forcing their children into the Knight Order. It made managing the knights much more difficult.
After a moment's thought, Todd decided not to explain. Apart from the people in the Council Hall, only the Knight Order's senior officers knew about the Gui Xu Beast Tide.
To avoid causing needless panic, the lord had ordered everyone to keep quiet.
"I'll say it again: this time, we're going to hunt Monsters, not drive them away."
"So this operation is far more dangerous than in previous years. No one can let their guard down. If you die at a Monster's hands, no one will be held responsible for you—even if you're a noble!"
Todd reminded them again, though he had already repeated the warning many times
