The courtyard.
Quite a few people were sparring in the courtyard.
A monkey with a sharp-looking face and a fierce aura lay sprawled in a reclining chair.
It was obvious that he held the highest status among everyone present.
The Immortals sparring in the courtyard were clearly terrified of that monkey, their occasional glances toward him filled with fear.
"Hehe, you all fight quite well. Mind if I join in for a little practice?"
Sun Wukong poked his head through the doorway.
His face was full of smiles and curiosity. Before anyone inside could respond, he strode in and laughed. "I am the Great Sage Equal to Heaven of the Heavenly Court. Greetings, fellow Daoists!"
Seeing an unfamiliar monkey barge into the courtyard,
the Immortals who had been sparring all stopped and looked toward the monkey reclining in the chair.
"Keep practicing. Why are you looking at someone else?" Wuzhiqi said calmly. "Even if the sky falls, you must remain focused. Why did a monkey barging in distract you?"
"Every last one of you lacks focus. Extra training for all of you!!"
"Starting tomorrow, all of you will enter the Refinement Realm and train for ten thousand years!"
His stern, domineering voice rang out.
The many Immortals sighed bitterly, their faces filled with misery.
Yet none of them dared object, and all nodded in agreement.
The Immortals had no objections, but Sun Wukong, who had been watching from the side, certainly did. He shouted, "Aren't you being a little too cold and heartless?"
"They merely turned to look because I, Old Sun, came in. They did not violate any Heavenly Edicts, yet you intend to punish them like this. Isn't that far too harsh?"
"How can someone so strict be a teacher to others?"
"Not kind enough, not magnanimous enough!!!"
