On Scriptures or Dharma, This Poor Monk Can Do Either. When Words Fail, Are Your Fists Not Hard Enough?
"Do you think you can outmatch me, or Ancient Buddha Randeng?"
Tathagata Buddha Patriarch's voice echoed through the Present-Moment Pure Land, carrying undisguised pressure.
The Buddhas and Buddha Gods behind him all stepped forward in unison, their imposing aura surging toward Universal Manifestation Tathagata on the lotus platform like a tide.
Ancient Buddha Randeng said nothing, merely watching in silence.
Maitreya stood to one side with a cold sneer on his face.
He wanted to see just how Universal Manifestation Tathagata would handle this.
Universal Manifestation Tathagata sat upon the Golden Lotus, his expression utterly unchanged.
He pressed his palms together, his voice calm. "Amitabha. Shall we discuss scriptures, or contest Dharma?"
His words were neither servile nor overbearing, and even carried a trace of composure.
Tathagata Buddha Patriarch narrowed his eyes slightly.
He had not expected the other party not only to refuse to back down, but to throw two choices right back at him.
"What if we discuss scriptures? What if we contest Dharma?" Tathagata asked.
"If we discuss scriptures, then we sit and discuss scripture and Dharma. If we contest Dharma, then we settle it with our hands." Universal Manifestation Tathagata said calmly, "Whichever it is, this poor monk will accompany you."
Maitreya could not help but sneer. "Who do you think you are? You think you are worthy of discussing scriptures with the World-Honored One?"
Universal Manifestation Tathagata did not look at him. His gaze remained fixed on Tathagata and Randeng.
Tathagata Buddha Patriarch pondered for a moment before saying lightly, "Since you took the initiative to speak, then let us discuss scriptures first. I would like to hear what principles you can possibly expound."
As soon as he finished speaking, a Buddha God stepped out from behind him.
