Background / History

Qiu Sheng is one of Uncle Jiu's disciples and a fellow disciple of Lin Fan and Wen Cai. He is initially presented at the Longevity House, where he disguises himself as a zombie to frighten Wen Cai. The prank backfires when five actual zombies awaken and corner the pair; Lin Fan saves them by killing the zombies with lightning arts. 2 3

While assisting with Old Master Ren's reburial, Qiu Sheng and Wen Cai are ordered to establish a Plum Blossom Incense Array. Qiu Sheng notices Dong Xiaoyu's grave, is startled by her voice, and flees with Wen Cai after discovering the ominous incense pattern. 11 12

During the threat surrounding the Ren family, Lin Fan realizes Qiu Sheng may be vulnerable because he is alone. Qiu Sheng avoids the hidden enemy only by chance, having not returned to his aunt's Rouge Shop that night. 14

Qiu Sheng later becomes infatuated with Dong Xiaoyu, not realizing she is a ghost. Her bewitchment drains his Yang energy and leaves him weak, listless, and unable to recognize the danger. Under her curse, he attacks Uncle Jiu and Lin Fan while trying to protect her. 15 16

After Dong Xiaoyu is slain, Qiu Sheng admits fault and receives Uncle Jiu's punishment: he must practice through the night before being assigned further work at Ren Manor. 17

Personality

Qiu Sheng is mischievous and fond of teasing others, particularly Wen Cai. His zombie prank demonstrates both his playful cruelty and his tendency to act before considering the consequences. 2

He often projects confidence, especially around Ren Tingting, but his courage falters when faced with genuine supernatural danger. He flees from Dong Xiaoyu's grave, is terrified by Lin Fan's lightning arts, and panics after realizing Old Master Ren is a Purple Zombie. 3 11 19

He is lecherous and easily distracted by attractive women. His flirtation with Ren Tingting and obsession with Dong Xiaoyu repeatedly interfere with his judgment. 15 18

Despite his flaws, Qiu Sheng cares about his fellow disciples and openly acknowledges Lin Fan's accomplishments. After the battle at Ren Manor, he proudly tells Uncle Jiu that Lin Fan defeated Old Master Ren, then later praises Lin Fan before the Ren family. 22 21
